Reviewed January 2017The 2016 Vosne-Romanée “aux Réas” from Jean-Marie Fourrier is very good, offering up a complex nose of raspberries, cherries, raw cocoa, a good base of soil and a touch of spicy oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, tangy and nicely plush on the attack, with a good core, moderate tannins and fine soil drive on the long finish. Good juice.

(Barrel tasting) A pungent nose is comprised by notes of wood, menthol, various red berries and plenty of Vosne-style spice. I like the delineation of the vibrant medium weight flavors that terminate in a dusty and mildly austere finish. This will need a few years to better integrate its wood and develop additional depth.
