Wine Advocate
Reviewed April 2018The 2016 Pinot Noir offers up an expressive bouquet of crushed currant, red cherry and earthy soil, followed by a medium-bodied, juicy and succulent palate that's structurally open-knit but nevertheless endowed with lovely concentration and intensity. This keenly priced introduction to the Sandhi range is entirely destemmed. (WK)
Notes
Winemaker's Notes: "This wine is built around three important vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills; Bentrock, Wenzlau, and Rinconada. Here, Pinot Noir vines struggle in ancient, silica based soils that produce lively aromatics and exuberantly-fruited wines. The wine brims with fresh red fruits of wild strawberries and pomegranate. The palate shows the same fruits with good length and a lively texture."
