Reviewed July 2018Foxglove's 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is gorgeous. Even better, it is also one of the very best values in California Cabernet readers will come across. A rush of super-ripe dark cherry, tobacco, licorice and plum give the 2017 its racy personality. Voluptuous in the glass, with silky tannins and soft contours, the 2017 will be impossible to resist upon release. (AG)

Reminded of the story of the ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes who held out a lamp in search of an honest man (the flashlight wasn't invented until 1899) I pondered the odds of finding an honest California Cabernet Sauvignon for around $15. Success! The Foxglove abounds in ripe Paso Robles fruit- mouthwatering layers of blackberries. cherries and plums with hints of eucalyptus and smooth, velvety tannins, the perfect highly-quaffable, everyday Cabernet for parties, picnics, and barbecues.
