Reviewed October 2017I love the polish and complexity to this red. It delivers subtle currant, dried herb and spice character as well as a full body that is tight and focused. Such polished tannins. It goes on for minutes. One of the best vintages in years!

Deep purple-ruby. Rich aromas of dark plum, black currant, cedar, graphite and minerals on the captivating nose. Then clean, fresh and juicy, offering flavors similar to the aromas and an extremely refined mouthfeel. Licorice and violet elements feature on the long, graceful, multilayered finish. Very promising young Montevetrano. (ID)

A rich and creamy red, with dark chocolate and smoke notes underscoring blackberry coulis and crème de cassis flavors. The story of Montevetrano is the stuff of legend. During the 1980s Silvia Imparato collaborated with renowned consultant Riccardo Cotarella to develop a wine from a limited vineyard position near Salerno. The Montevetrano Rosso established itself as an instant cult classic through its blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Aglianico grapes to become the "Super-Tuscan of the South." Campania demonstrated its ability to create wines with international style and profound elegance through the production of world-class wines.
