Almost entirely Chardonnay, with just a whisper of Pinot Noir, this is a dry Champagne. It is crisp, lively, steely and with great intensity. The apple and lemon flavors are just a part of this impressive wine that could age longer. *Cellar Selection* (RV)

A firm version, with a light and lacy mousse carrying pretty hints of ripe black cherry, apple blossom, chalk and biscuit. Clean-cut on the moderate finish. (AN, Web-2017)

This was one of the biggest highlights of my trip to Champagne this year- and I have to say that I am amazed that we were able to buy more for our customers! This spectacular offering from Le Brun De Neuville is all from Bethon, in the heart of the Sézanne. It is composed of 96% of Chardonnay and 4% Pinot Noir from some of the chalkiest soil in all of Champagne. You friends will not believe that they are drinking a Champagne that is under $100 if you pop this tonight. Given how well the 1988 Le Brun De Neuville showed in the same tasting this 2008 can only get better- if you can keep your hands off of it!

It is absolutely shocking to be able to find a top-notch 2008 Champagne for $50. Super-classic nose for the vintage, filled with bread dough, lemon curd and whiffs of fresh french herbs. Extremely long on the palate, this 2008 beauty from Le Brun de Neuville is worth every penny. Stock up while you can!

Champagne's 2008 vintage is EPIC! Our Champagne buyer, who has been immersed in bubbly for a long time, calls 2008 "the vintage of my lifetime." That's high praise! Regardless of producer, the 2008s are vanishing from the marketplace at break neck speed. Wine Spectator rated the vintage 97/100 and describes it as, "Vivid, well-structured wines in a classic style, with fine textural finesse; potentially long-lived." Forward to the 2008 Le Brun de Neuville Grand Vintage and it hits all those benchmarks. The sunny but cold growing season allowed the grapes to ripen to physiological perfection and develop vibrant crunchy acidity that balances out the dosage. Eight years (plus) of aging sur-lie gives the champagne toasty brioche notes and an elegant mousse of finesse and texture. A customer favorite at our most recent in-store Champagne tasting, it will also age and evolve for at least another decade! Grab some of this killer bubbly from a legendary vintage before they're all gone!

Notes

This classic Sézanne Champagne is composed of 96% Chardonnay and 4% Pinot Noir aged over eight years on the lees. It is dosed at under 8g/L and all stainless steel fermented. This is a classic 2008, with fantastic drive, length and minerality, and should age very well if you can keep your hands off of it! (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)
