This is the only pure Meunier rose that we have that has been made by blending red wine with white. About 91% of the base is pressed gently to make the white wine, while 9% is sourced from over 60 year old vines and made as red. The result is a rose Champagne with decadent luxardo cherry flavor, balanced by a precise, fine bead and very good minerality. The finish is dry and long- a very impressive Champagne.

This is delicious! It's always an adventure to see how talented and experienced winemakers craft 100% Pinot Meunier champagnes. Once hidden in the fine print, Meunier recent ascent as a single variety sparkler has transformed the champagne aisle almost as much as climate change. If you read our emails, you know Jérôme Trudon spent twelve years making champagne at a little Champagne house called Louis Roederer and his "Rosephile" Brut Rose is a testament to his advanced skills. Where to start? This is one of those wines that has strong seductive aromatics that match what you get on the palate - an explosion of ripe red fruit, mouthwatering acidity, and brioche. I can't recall a rose champagne that has as much red fruit character. Great for summer!

The Trudon "Rosephile" Brut Rose is 100% Meunier and a perfect example of the quality that the oft-overlooked grape can achieve. Softly textured yet snappy due to undergoing only 30% malo, the wine is loaded with raspberry, redcurrant, and crushed rosepetal aromatics. Ripe strawberry and cherry flavors burst on the palate while an undertone of red flowers and crushed rocks carry the soft, juicy finish. This is absolutely delicious Brut Rose.
Notes
Jerome Trudon's "Rosephile" Brut Rosé Champagne shows the charming, elegant side of his craft in the best possible light. It is entirely Meunier, with 7% vinified red from a massal-selected plot over 60 years of age. I wrote 'Luxardo cherry' in all caps in my notebook and this wine has fantastic purity of fruit, but a finish that is dry and balanced. He decided to do only 30% malolactic fermentation on this batch to preserve its snap and refreshment. Be careful, this is very easy to drink and the second glass tastes better than the first!
