I find that the 2014 white Burgundies are the best to come along since 2008, and this is one of our best examples of the vintage. Jacques Bavard managed to get more than a little limey, Puligny like zing in this quite concentrated little Bourgogne Blanc. Don't miss out on this great vintage- there is no reason not to try some at this great value price!

Another great Bourgogne Blanc from Bavard. This shows his signature style...medium fruit weight, great drive and purity, a nice cut of acid (the 2014s aren't short on natural acidity). Mostly showing dry / baked apple, spiced pie crust and hazelnut. Hints of citrus cut from the lingering acidity. Pretty serious wine for the price.

Maison Jacques Bavard is a tiny negociant producer in Puligny-Montrachet. He comes from a long line of winegrowers, and is dedicated to working with organic and biodynamic growers. We found him a few years ago on a tip, and found the balance and freshness of his wines to be most impressive. Thanks to importing his wines directly, we have them available at a very modest price. His 2014s may be the finest vintage we have had a chance to offer! This rich Chardonnay comes from vineyards below Puligny-Montrachet.
