2014 Jacques Bavard Monthelie Blanc

Maison Jacques Bavard is a tiny negociant producer in Puligny-Montrachet. He comes from a long line of wine-growers, and is dedicated to working with organic and biodynamic growers. We found him a few years ago on a tip, and found the purity of his wines to be most impressive. Thanks to importing his wines directly, we have them available at a very modest price. Tasting notes from the producer: "Near Meursault and adjoining Volnay, the wines from this village combine power, precision, and volume. The soil is mainly limestone, ideal for Chardonnay. With bottle age, the wine shows rich mango pulp and guava fruit on the nose. Beautiful with intense cheeses like Chambertin, Epoisses, and Citeaux."
