Another solid Margaux with richness and depth. Full body, velvety tannins and a long and flavorful finish. All there.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 La Tour de Mons did not show well during en primeur and I did not award any score. I am glad that I demurred! It has an impressive and voluminous bouquet with extrovert but not overpowering blackberry and raspberry scents complemented by crushed rose petals and crushed stone. There is fine oak integration here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very harmonious with freshness from start to finish. You just want to take another sip as soon as possible--job done. Bravo! (NM)

Singed alder and juniper notes form a slightly dusty but alluring perfumed frame around a core of gently mulled plum and blackberry fruit. Shows a light lilac accent on the finish, with the fruit lingering steadily. Best from 2020 through 2030. (JM)

The 2015 La Tour de Mons wraps around the palate with lovely fleshiness. This is an especially round, fleshy Margaux. Silky tannins add to an impression of texture, juiciness and near-term appeal. Dark red cherry, plum, spice and new leather add the closing shades of nuance. (AG)

La Tour de Mons- 47%CS 56M 6PV The Margaux appellation excelled in 2015 and when this estate gets it right as they did in 2005, 2009, 2010 and again here in 2015 it is truly a textbook Margaux and an amazing value. Bright, elegant, red-blue fruit all in absolutely perfect balance float across the palate as a great wine from Margaux should. This will be a delicious young drink! 2 Stars for Value!
