K&L Notes

This is a very good price on an elegant Grand Marque. This cuvée is rich, clean, and refreshing. The wine has a lot of pretty green apple fruit, a creamy texture, and elegant, tiny bubbles. Their incredible commitment of reserves from past vintages gives the wine depth and complexity while maintaining the racy, zesty, and pure flavors that are synonymous with this Champagne. You can never go wrong with Billecart-Salmon for the aperitif!

The Brut reserve is such an enjoyable Champagne for everyday drinking. Full of bright, fresh flavors and satisfying textures makes this just a mouthful of deliciousness. The tastes of yellow apple, flint, black peppercorn is all so enjoyable. Drink, enjoy, repeat.

The classic, hard to get these days and even harder to put down once you've popped that top and gotten it into a glass. Fresh, with hints of flowers, stone fruit and a gentle yeasty scrumptiousness that has you crying out for more. Please come down and get some before it all disappears again.

It's baaaack! While this wonderful Brut often gets overshadowed by the Brut Rose, it is one that should not be missed! Rich, yet focused, with poached pear, tart green apple and citrus fruits . Gingersnap spice on the palate, with bracing minerality and firm structure. Clean and solid!

I love the freshness and precision of the Billecart Salmon Brut Reserve. Designed in a reductive style, this meunier dominant cuvée has beautiful bright expressive flavors of pears, white nectarines, cherries and white floral notes with incredible integration and precision from the time on the lees and the relatively low dosage. Compare to other, similarly priced nonvintage champagnes from the big houses and this is a no-brainer.

Classic Champagne with touch of toast and marzipan note but mostly clean, fresh, zesty, citrus flavor profile with green apple and Bosc pear. Dry, mineral, dangerously easy to drink! It's the all time favorite Champagne.

A powerful champagne from a powerhouse producer! The Brut Reserve is incredibly consistent-- which makes a lot of sense given that they commit to using as much reserve wine as necessary (at times up to 50%) to create a steadily delicious product. It has incredible structure, a gorgeous nose of rich honey and fragrant white flowers, and a soft, elegant finish.

One of the great things about Grande Marque Champagnes is the consistency of house style. You know that the Billecart Salmon Brut you are opening tonight will have the same fresh and focused character you remember from before. Billecart has had a long, cold fermentation practice since the late 1950's aiding in their bright and lively personality. Over two years on the lees gives some texture to the tart apple and dry stone finish.

This is a true staff favorite. Billecart Salmon Brut Reserve and Lay's potato chips is among my emeritus choices for best food pairing ever, and I'm not alone in that appraisal. Light honey coated pom fruit and refreshing acidity are the understated role players in this incredibly delicate, balanced cuvee. Drink now, drink often.

K&L has a long and happy relationship with Billecart Salmon and the Brut Reserve is as lively and exuberant as ever. Lovely lemony fruit and an enticing candied citrus peel not are lifted by the brightness and clarity. Always a hit!

Billecart-Salmon is a medium sized champagne house making some beautiful cuvees and their flagship Brut Reserve is no different. Comprised of 40% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay this cuvee is a champagne classic in style and elegance. Billecart-Salmon’s Brut Reserve exemplifies a champagne of know-how and could (should) be any connoisseur’s go-to.

If it has to sparkle, have superb quality and a big-house name, this is the wine to grab! I don't always drink name-brand champagnes, but when I do, this is the one for me! In my opinion, the Brut Reserve checks all of the bubbly boxes. Fresh, bright, crisp fruit, juicy acidity, lifted aromatics. Like many of my favorite styles of sparkling wines, it also has a beautiful nerve of mineral, but a counter-balance of sweetness of fruit to keep everything right where it should be. No national brand offers more for the money at, or near this price!

Aged 36 months on the lees, the Brut Reserve is clean and vivacious, with rich stone fruit and honey, plus that classic chalky finish. Billecart-Salmon is my go-to Champagne when looking for a crowd-pleasing yet sophisticated sparkler. It has just the right amount of house name recognition while staying true to quality, and the brighter house style is both refreshing and elegant, at an incredibly reasonable price. A favorite that continues to impress!

Of all the grand marques, no one offers a cleaner, purer example of Champagne fruit and refreshment than Billecart-Salmon. The Billecart family pick earlier than most, and run the coldest, longest fermentations in all of Champagne to deliver their inimitable, graceful house style. If you are looking for the ultimate in balance aperitif Champagne, you have found it!

I've found myself ordering this a lot lately while going out. The Billecart Reserve is an easy, approachable Champagne, with a hint of toast and green apple. When in doubt, a Champagne will go with almost any food at a restaurant (or at home). It can also transition from aperitif to a dinner drink, with just one bottle! Good to have chilled and ready to impress friends, family or your special date...

As focused as ever, almost lemony on the palate and super refreshing. It reminds me of when we sold a special Billecart "K&L Cuvée" years back.
