Reviewed January 2024Attractive mid to pale purple. The fruit is light on the nose, with more substance on the palate, some alpine strawberries in the mix, with a clean run through to the finish. The fine boned acidity adds a little lift to finish. Drink from 2029-2034. Tasted Nov 2023.

Note: from a .56 ha holding. Pretty aromas of various red berries, anise, violet and sandalwood give way to more concentrated though still quite supple flavors that firm up on the refined, balanced and sneaky long finale. While this well-made effort could be enjoyed young, a few years of keeping should add depth.

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru has much more cohesion than the Village Cru: Morello cherries, wild strawberries and dried rose petals. There's a roundness here that is very appealing. The medium-bodied palate has light tannins and a twist of sour cherry and strawberry with just a very small attenuation towards the finish. Fine.(NM)
