A beautiful oak spice takes center stage initially with this Bourbon's nose. There's soft oak, varnish, and a slight sandalwood aroma. Bold scents of pepper, cinnamon, and clove accompany the woodiness, and this is accented by fruit notes of citrus zest and blackberry. Coming in last, but certainly not least, are smells of shaved coconut, dark chocolate, and nougat. The palate melds all these flavors, emphasizing salty nougat and fresh-cracked pepper. Then the finish wraps up in a pleasant toasted nuttiness. Quite a luscious whiskey - this signals a lovely jump into the New Year.

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
