Bid on this 4-half-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Clos Jebsal Pinot Gris Sélection de Grains Nobles (375ml), a rare, luscious dessert wine from Olivier Humbrecht MW, Alsace’s first Master of Wine and one of the world’s great biodynamic winemakers. Clos Jebsal is the domaine’s walled monopole near Turckheim, whose cool, gypsum-rich marl soils produce some of Alsace’s most profound sweet wines. Sélection de Grains Nobles is the region’s highest designation for late-harvest wine, made only in exceptional years from hand-selected, botrytis-affected berries. Expect honey, dried apricot, candied peach, quince and orange marmalade layered with smoke, saffron, ginger and a mineral edge, with an unctuous, concentrated palate balanced by bright acidity and an exceptionally long finish. The 2025 Caposaldo Pinot Grigio (Delle Venezie DOC) is a pristine, hyper-refreshing, and highly reliable vintage that focuses entirely on clean, thirst-quenching varietal clarity. Sourced from hillside vineyards across the cool-climate Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia zones, where alluvial soils and sharp alpine breezes help retain vital freshness, this white is vinified entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. By skipping any oak or extended skin contact, Caposaldo captures an approachable white defined by its breezy, high-toned energy.
Founded in 1893, Cantina Terlano is a growers’ cooperative based in Alto Adige, in the Italian Alps. Its 2025 Pinot Grigio brings together this historic northern Italian producer and a grape known elsewhere as Pinot Gris—the same variety under its familiar Italian name.
Founded in 1907, J. Hofstätter is based in Tramin, also known as Termeno, in Italy’s Alto Adige. This 2023 Pinot Grigio connects that northern Italian home with a grape known internationally by another name: Pinot Gris. The 2025 Spasso Pinot Grigio delle Venezie is a quintessential, budget-friendly Italian white designed for freshness and immediate enjoyment. Coming from the broad Delle Venezie region, it consistently offers a high-value, easy-drinking style. On the nose, it is bright and floral, featuring aromas of green apple, grapefruit, and a hint of banana. The palate is light-bodied and "crunchy," balancing crisp citrus flavors with a distinct mineral streak and vibrant acidity. It finishes clean and refreshing with a subtle touch of pear. This is a classic, straightforward "porch pounder" that pairs perfectly with light seafood or sunshine.
The 2024 Livio Felluga Pinot Grigio is a benchmark for the region, known for its "old gold" brilliance and subtle coppery highlights. On the nose, it is layered and vibrant, featuring white peach, apricot, and orange zest mixed with delicate notes of wildflower honey and sage. The palate is structured and silky, echoing the nose with flavors of Golden Delicious apple and papaya, supported by a "tangy" mineral grip and integrated acidity. It finishes long and focused with a persistent citrus and savory lift. While Pinot Grigio is often simple, this bottling is celebrated for its surprising depth and creamy texture, a result of several months spent on the lees.
The 2024 Folonari Pinot Grigio is a classic, easy-drinking white from one of Italy's most recognized producers. The nose is fresh and delicate, featuring green apple, citrus, and hints of white flowers. On the palate, it is light-bodied and crisp, offering a clean, straightforward profile of lemon and honeyed pear with vibrant acidity. The finish is short and refreshing, making it a highly versatile and "gluggable" option. This 1.5L format is a benchmark "party bottle" that pairs perfectly with simple salads, light seafood, or casual appetizers.
The 2022 Pinot Gris Brand Grand Cru comes from almost 50-year-old vines grown on granitic soils in the Schneckelsburg parcel of this site. Slight smoke is almost smoldering on the nose while the palate is beautifully pear-flavored, with notions of baked pear that are supple yet fresh. This holds so much verticality, freshness and verve. There is just a touch of creaminess on the finish. The 2022 is a little treasure that still holds so much to be revealed. (Dry)(AK)
The Derot-Delugny estate has been producing their own Champagne for four generations in the tiny village of Croutes-sur-Marne in the western part of the region. Everything they do is estate, and this all Pinot Gris Champagne is their smallest production. It is the only time I have ever tasted a single variety Pinot Gris from Champagne, and it is fantastic as well as exotic! With both effusive and tropical notes, this is still grounded in the world of dry Champagne with a dry (7g/l) finish and plenty of minerality. A must try with asian cuisine!
This 2025 Pinot Gris comes from California’s Santa Lucia Highlands, an appellation set along the eastern slopes of the Santa Lucia Range in Monterey County. Skin fermentation keeps the juice of this white grape in contact with its skins during production, placing Union Sacré’s bottling in the orange-wine tradition.
White stones, yellow apples and green mangoes. Taut and very sleek, this medium-bodied pinot gris is very precise and finely tuned. Long, tangy acidity. Drink now.
The 2025 Molino a Vento Pinot Grigio Organic (Terre Siciliane IGT) is a beautifully vibrant, high-toned, and expressive white that completely redefines the expectations of southern Italian Pinot Grigio. Sourced from certified organic estate vineyards in the wind-swept, rolling hills of western Sicily, this wine thrives in a microclimate where intense Mediterranean sunshine is balanced by powerful, cooling maritime breezes. Vinified entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel with zero oak makeup or malolactic fermentation, it focuses purely on capturing a pristine, sun-drenched varietal transparency.
The 2022 Pinot Gris Eichberg Grand Cru is from the lieu-dit of Niedereich in the upper reaches of the site on limestone. The nose is shy, but the palate brings an immediate sense of baked pear, wonderfully salty and beautifully rounded, adding a slight phenolic texture. Nothing here points to a hot year. Its 6.7 g/L of residual sweetness stands against a beautiful 5.4 g/L of acidity, leaving this just off-dry and vividly fresh.(AK)
The 2020 Pinot Grigio captivates with sweet spices, dusty florals and dried nectarine. This is round and soothing with a sun tea-like sweetness and bitter twang of tannin that adds a more tactile feel. It finishes with cheek-puckering tension. (EG)

The 2024 Caposaldo Pinot Grigio (Delle Venezie DOC) is a clean, highly reliable, and crowd-pleasing expression that focuses entirely on crisp varietal clarity. Sourced from hillside vineyards across the cool-climate Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia zones, where alluvial soils and alpine breezes help retain freshness, this wine is vinified entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. By skipping any wood or extended skin contact, Caposaldo delivers an approachable white defined by its breezy, high-toned energy.
The Derot family was the first to plant Chardonnay out on the Western edge of the Marne valley, and the name "Hors Pair" means out of the ordinary, which it is to have a blanc de blanc from this area. It is all estate grown, and entirely fermented in enamel lined iron tanks with an extra year of elevage in those tanks before bottling. It is then aged for three years on the lees, giving the wine an airy, lovely, clean style that is far to easy to drink. -Gary Westby, K&L

A fleshier wine from the warm 2023 vintage, notes of pear and savoury herbals, and mint leaf. Fleshy, phenolic and opulent on the palate with ripe stone. Propagation from the original three vines David Lett planted at a nursery block near Corvallis and then again at Eyrie in 1966. (CP)

The Attems estate boasts a millennium of history in the far northeastern corner of Italy, nestled in the Collio region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. While the modern world is accustomed to Pinot Grigio being a crisp, clear white wine, the "Ramato" (meaning coppery) style is actually a vivid return to the Republic of Venice's ancient winemaking traditions. Because Pinot Grigio is a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir, its skins are naturally a dusty pink-gray. By allowing the juice to rest on these skins during fermentation, Attems extracts a gorgeous, copper-pink hue and a stunning layer of texture. Grown in the region's famous ponca soils—stratified layers of marine marl and sandstone—this wine delivers intense saline minerality. In the glass, it looks like a rosé but drinks with the savory complexity of an amber wine. The nose offers wild strawberry, dried cherry, and a hint of broom flower. On the palate, the skin contact provides a delicate tannic grip, wrapping around a vibrant, structured core of red fruit and crushed stone. It is a fantastic, historical revival that pairs beautifully with prosciutto, rich seafood stews, or roasted poultry.
Founded in 1974 by Pat and Joe Campbell, Elk Cove is among Oregon’s early family-owned wineries. The 2024 Estate Pinot Gris connects the producer’s five decades in the Willamette Valley with a grape that has become an important part of Oregon white-wine production.
The 2024 Pinot Gris Vireton wafts up with a spicy blend of crushed nectarines, fermented ginger and lime. It washes across the palate with ease, round and soothing with a pretty inner sweetness and polished white pit fruits. It leaves a green melon inflection enhanced by hints of candied lime while tapering off with excellent length. (EG)

Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are two names for the same grape, whose pinkish-gray skins distinguish it from most white-wine varieties. Bortolusso’s 2025 bottling comes from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the northeastern Italian region bordering Austria and Slovenia, where Pinot Grigio is a well-established part of the wine landscape.
A properly dry pinot gris that is a model of balance and harmony, the creaminess balanced by discreet freshness on the medium-bodied palate. I love the fresh melon and orange blossom aromas. Just a hint of tannin in the finish adds a bit of tension. Drink now.
Founded in Napa Valley by winemaker Dan Petroski in 2009, Massican has built its identity around white wines influenced by the traditions of northern Italy. This 2025 California Pinot Grigio features the grape also known as Pinot Gris, linking an Italian varietal name with California origins.

From a vineyard near Watsonville that doesn’t meet the elevation requirement to be within the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, the 2024 Pinot Gris Basor Vineyard is still from the colder side of the area. Winemaker Keegan Mayo gives 40% of the grapes 24 hours of skin-contact and whole-cluster ferments the rest. Barrel-fermented six months in neutral French oak, it’s a sleek, light-bodied, savory white wine with crunchy texture, racy in acidity, with punches of saline and salty sea air. Drink now.
Founded in 1992 by Swiss vintner Georg Fromm, Fromm Winery is based in Marlborough’s Brancott Valley. This 2024 Pinot Gris connects the estate’s European roots with Marlborough, the major winegrowing region at the northeastern end of New Zealand’s South Island.
Founded by Judy Jordan in 1986, J Vineyards & Winery built its reputation in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, initially focusing on traditional-method sparkling wine. The 2024 California Pinot Gris extends the producer’s portfolio beyond its historic sparkling-wine roots with a statewide-appellation white made from Pinot Gris.
It's brightly fruited and elegantly fragrant on the nose with white flesh nectarine, poached pear and jasmine notes, followed by a succulent palate delivering silky texture backed by juicy acidity, making it delectable and fabulously appealing.
Pinot Gris is a naturally pigmented mutation of Pinot Noir, with gray-pink skins that can lend color when the juice remains in contact with them. Matyas’s 2022 “Sandwich” uses this skin-contact approach, placing a familiar grape in the distinctive context of contemporary Slovak natural wine.
Founded in 2007 by Fred Cline, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards was created to honor his grandfather, Valeriano Jacuzzi, a member of the Italian immigrant family best known for its engineering innovations and later for the Jacuzzi name itself. The winery’s Tuscan-inspired estate in Sonoma’s Carneros district reflects the family’s roots in Casarsa, Italy, while celebrating a viticultural legacy that dates back to Valeriano’s grape growing and home winemaking in Northern California during the 1930s. Jacuzzi focuses on Italian varieties that remain relatively uncommon in California, including Arneis, Barbera, Sangiovese, Primitivo, and Teroldego. Fruit is sourced from estate vineyards and select Sonoma County sites, with an emphasis on matching varieties to suitable climates and soils. The winery’s portfolio highlights the diversity of Italian grapes while expressing Sonoma’s growing conditions, blending Old World inspiration with California viticulture.
Domaine de Reuilly has a long history, as detailed by the importer: "When tasting the wines of Denis Jamain, it is clear that the appellation of Reuilly, in the eastern Loire, is experiencing a renaissance, moving far beyond its former status as the “poor man’s Sancerre.” This land was once a source of great pride, having been part of a gift of the 7th century king, Dagobert, to the Royal Abbey of Saint Denis. Phylloxera had ravaged the majority of the vineyards here in the late 19th century, but Camille Rousseau (Denis’ maternal grandfather) had faith in the future of Reuilly. In 1935, he planted his first vines here, in addition to farming a large oak forest on the outskirts of town. Denis shares his grandfather’s passion for the vineyards and the forest, as well as his hometown pride. Though he studied in the United States and speaks excellent English, this charismatic and friendly gentleman wanted nothing more than to return home to take over the family domaine. In 1990, Denis began adding to the family holdings. Today, he farms a total of seventeen hectares in the heart of the appellation, with eleven planted to Sauvignon Blanc, four planted to Pinot Noir, and two planted to Pinot Gris, which makes his superb and distinctive Reuilly rosé."

With a pretty coppery hue, the 2024 Pinot Grigio Jesera opens with a refreshing bouquet of wildflowers, stone dust and nuances of gingery spice. It’s soft textured with a silken wave of ripe pit fruits underscored by tactile mineral tones and a core of brisk acidity. This finishes long and perfumed, leaving a subtle grippiness as hints of Asian pear slowly fade. (EG)
Kabaj (Ka-bye) have farmed their vineyards for many generations. When Katja Kabaj met French oenologist Jean-Michel Morel after his stint at an Italian winery, they fell in love and eventually married. Jean-Michel brought some of those Italian and French sensibilities to the winery along with his fondness for working with amphorae. Those who have tasted Kabaj whites know that these wines range from light to full skin contact for the whites. And that the "Sivi" Pinot Gris is truly intriguing. It's aged for two weeks on the skins and then for about a year in neutral barrels before bottling. Since Pinot Gris is a naturally pink colored grape it has a light rose hue that adds to the already fascinating and inviting flavor profile. It is in the "orange" category of wines but is a easy entry point as the wine is not as intensely powerful as the Rebula or similarly styled skin-contact wines. *Natural Wine* *Orange Wine*
Smoky and flint, this is an intensely minerally, bone-dry pinot gris. Hard to say what weight this has, because it is powerful yet so incredibly fresh. This has astonishing energy on the racy and driving finish that must be tasted to be believed. Try to be patience, because this is a ticking flavor bomb. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.
From the Collio DOC on Italy's border with Slovenia, Venica is one of the region's most well-known and respected estates. Jesera actually means "little lake" in Slovenian, named for the vineyard's situation at the bottom of a cool valley which renders a textured and full-bodied Pinot Grigio.
