Bid on this bottle of 1990 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (96VN, 95RP, 94JG, 92BH). Vinous: "The 1990 Romanée St. Vivant was the best of these three wines from Domaine de la Romanée Conti. It showed great mid-palate intensity in the juicy, generous style of the year. (AG)" (07/2010)

Bid on this bottle of 1983 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (91BH). Burghound: "Somewhat remarkably given the production level, I hadn't tried this since 1995. Bricked through. A notably ripe and highly expressive nose combines both secondary and tertiary aromas that are liberally laced with spice, floral and soft Asian tea-like aromas. There is still very good density and richness to the medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a solidly complex finish that is not overly '83 like in the sense of being excessively tannic though there is a hint of backend dryness." Bid on this bottle of 1985 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (100WS, 98RP, 96JS, 95JG, 95VN, 94BH). Wine Spectator: "A truly great wine. Amazing concentration, brimming with focused cherry, plum, smoke and cinnamon flavors, all tied together into a harmonious package that keeps echoing and changing with every sip. Beautifully smooth but firm on the palate, it has the uncanny feeling of power with no weight, only mass. *Top 100 Wines of 1988* (HS)" (02/1988)

Bid on this bottle of 1989 Emmanuel Rouget Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Cros Parantoux" . Allen Meadows of Burghound writes: "This is an extremely impressive '89 with style, elegance, grace and solid power as the nose explodes with black Vosne fruit that is still mostly if not completely primary followed by rich, full-bodied, intense flavors that deliver a silky palate feel and a lovely, altogether velvety palate impression."

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Domaine Emmanuel Rouget Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Cros Parantoux" (97VN, 95RP, 94BH). Vinous: "One taste of Emmanuel Rouget’s 1990 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux is all it takes to completely stop the conversation at the table. How can a wine be so beautiful? Ethereal and weightless on the palate, yet with considerable depth, the 1990 captures the essence of what makes Pinot Noir and Burgundy so compelling. Sweet floral notes wrap around an eternal, silky finish that is pure finesse. It’s hard to see the 1990 improving much from here although it will certainly hold for some time. Still, my preference would be to drink it sooner rather than later. (AG)" (04/2015)

Bid on this bottle of 1988 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (96RP, 94WS, 93BH). Wine Advocate: "The Richebourg was an explosive wine with an earthy, cinnamon, gingery, soy sauce aroma backed up with the intense smell of plums and toasty new oak. Extremely rich, full bodied, and awesomely proportioned, this heroic wine should be drunk from the late nineties through the first two decades of the twenty-first century. It seems bigger, fuller, and more powerful than even the celestial 1985. The prices for the wines of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti may be exorbitant but the quality of the wines produced in the eighties is truly remarkable. (RP)" (12/1989)

Bid on this bottle of 1985 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti Grand Cru (100RP, 99WS, 94BH). Wine Advocate: "The Romanee-Conti is utterly mind blowing. The heady, intoxicating bouquet delivered penetrating and sublime aromas that were even more intense than those from the La Tache. On the palate, there is a veritable smorgasbord of earthly and heavenly delights. Needless to say, it is very rich, very opulent, and very concentrated. Bid on this bottle of 1996 Emmanuel Rouget Échézeaux Grand Cru ((92-94RP), 92BH). Wine Advocate: "This bright, dark ruby-colored wine is superb. Rose, violet, lily, perfume, cherry, blackberry, and earth aromas lead to a full-bodied, velvety-textured, and immensely refined wine. This feminine, yet powerful beauty is magnificently proportioned, balanced, and reveals creamy blackberries, candied cherries, and hints of chocolate in its complex, concentrated and pure personality. Its immensely long finish reveals a firm backbone. (PR)" (08/1998)

Bid on this bottle of 1998 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (94JM, 94RP, 91BH, 91DC, 90ST). Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at Harry Gill’s annual lunch. The RSV ’98 has a rounded, sensuous nose with aromas of mulberry, raspberry, a touch of leather, mint and dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, quite robust with firm, what you might describe as “big-boned” tannins more reminiscent of a gutsy Chambolle. Nonetheless, it exhibits superb concentration and great weight in the mouth, leading to a slightly meaty, Musigny-like finish that lacks the finesse of Romanee-St.-Vivant. As DRC’s go, one might describe this is a ‘burly’ RSV, but still utterly enjoyable. (NM)" (07/2010)

Decanter: "Still blended from the Renardes, Bressandes and Clos du Roi Grands Crus – the original idea in 2008 was to produce three separate wines – this Corton is appreciably more than the sum of its parts. Floral, direct and engaging, at least by the standards of many Cortons, it arguably reflects its producer as much as its terroir, with clove spice from 75% whole bunches, subtle wood and a long, engaging, refreshing finish. Bid on this bottle of 2020 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanée, a village-level red Burgundy from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most coveted small family estates, established by Sylvain Cathiard’s grandfather and run since 2011 by his son Sébastien, whose wines Neal Martin has said he adores. Blended from five parcels across four climats within the famed commune that is home to Romanée-Conti and La Tâche, it is raised with a generous share of new oak and is a true snapshot of the village. The ripe, concentrated 2020 vintage shows dark cherry, black raspberry and plum layered with sandalwood, Asian tea, violet, sweet spice and savory earth, with a supple, velvety palate, fine-grained tannins, lively acidity and a long, perfumed finish. A rare, highly allocated village Vosne-Romanée from a cult producer, built to reward cellaring.

Yes, the difference is negligible. Its nose offers up lavish quantities of sweet black fruits, floral, mineral, and toasty new oak scents. Bid on this bottle of 1988 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru (97JG, 93BH, 92WS). John Gilman: "The 1988 La Tâche may in the very end, prove to be a hair better than the very fine 1990. It is clearly one of the monuments of the vintage, and though it is still (like so many of the very best 1988s) still a touch buttoned up behind its tangy acidity, the depth, purity and overpowering and intoxicating perfume of this amazing wine make it very clear that the greatness of legend is simply a matter of time. The haunting bouquet simply explodes from the glass in a cornucopia of red fruit, cinnamon, cloves, developing notes of La Tâche beetroot, intense sous bois, coffee, duck, minerals, roses and cedar. On the palate the wine is very, very deep, bright and tangy, with a huge core of sweet fruit firmly enmeshed in a girdle of tangy acidity. There are still some tannins present here, but they are already beginning to peel away... " (04/2006)

Bid on this bottle of 1983 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti Grand Cru (92RP). Wine Advocate: "This is a sensational wine with a rich yet youthful fragrance, long, deep flavor, and plenty of body. The 1983 vintage for Domaine de la Romanee-Conti was a very tough year. First there was hail, then the advent of rot in August thanks to the tropical heat and humidity. When the harvest occurred, the domaine instructed its pickers to pick the grapes, not the grape bunches, by hand and to discard all of the rotten grapes. The results are splendidly concentrated, rich wines, but wines that are extremely expensive and need at least a decade of cellaring." (01/1990)

Bid on this bottle of 1995 Emmanuel Rouget Échézeaux Grand Cru (91BH). Burghound: "Remarkably supple and forward with elegant red fruits framed by traces of earth and a touch of oak followed by sweet, sappy, modulated, round flavors that offer excellent detail and fine length and the slight astringency that this displayed for years has finally rounded out. For my taste, this has arrived at its peak and while there is certainly no rush to drink up, neither is there any reason to hold for further upside development. Multiple, and consistent, notes." Bid on this bottle of 1986 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (94RP, 94WS). Wine Advocate: "The spectacular Richebourg has a stunning nose, is more full bodied and powerful than usual, very long, but also quite tannic. I tasted it twice and my estimate on peak drinkability was between 1996 and 2012. It should be a real ager. This is among the few superstars of this vintage, but the 1986 is not for drinking soon-patience is most definitely required. (RP)" (12/1989)

Bid on this bottle of 1987 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti Grand Cru (95RP). Wine Advocate: "Extremely concentrated, exotic, and sensationally perfumed, with its telltale bouquet of oriental spices, toasty vanillin oak, berry fruit, and plums, this wine had fabulous gingery, cinnamon flavors as well as astonishing length. It is one of the most unique tasting experiences in the world. It is all pleasure, finesse, complexity and richness, and my feeling is that it is clearly the best wine this domaine has made in 1987. There are 225 cases to be allocated throughout the world. In many vintages it is difficult to say that the Romanee-Conti is the best wine produced at the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, but in 1987 it is utterly compelling. My notes indicate that it is more evolved and precocious than either La Tache, Richebourg, or Grands Echezeaux. (RP)" (01/1990)

A more deeply pitched nose displays a well-layered mix of both red and black pinot fruit along with notes of spice, violets and sandalwood. Here too the middle weight flavors possess a highly seductive texture thanks to the velvety mouth feel that continues onto the serious, firm and lingering finish. *Outstanding Top Value*

A denser mid crimson purple. 40% whole bunch which she thinks adds dramatically to the complexity with ageing. Superb all the way across the palate, every little part of the wine is in balance, just the right acidity, very persistent.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Perrot-Minot Vosne-Romanée, from the acclaimed Morey-Saint-Denis domaine led since 1993 by Christophe Perrot-Minot, whose meticulous, low-yield approach has made the estate one of the most sought-after names in the Côte de Nuits. This village-level red Burgundy comes from the famed commune of Vosne-Romanée, home to Romanée-Conti and La Tâche, in the legendary 2005 vintage, when a long, dry, sunny run up to harvest produced ripe, structured and age-worthy wines even at village level. Now two decades on, expect black cherry, raspberry and plum layered with rose petal, violet, exotic spice, forest floor and savory earth, with a silky, mature palate, resolved tannins and a long, perfumed finish. A collectible, cellar-aged red Burgundy from a benchmark vintage, ready to enjoy now.

Smelling of a warm greenhouse, clapped mint and firepit smoke, sweet red fruits ease onto the palate. This is firm and introverted at the moment, but there are layers of fruits built into the mid-palate surrounded by classically silky Vosne tannins. This seems to be in an awkward place, but all of the elements are there for this to shine in a few years.
Spicy cherry, strawberry, cinnamon and vanilla flavors mingle in this elegant, stylish red. There’s a fine-grained (if taut) structure, with an expansive finish. Best from 2028 through 2043.

Decanter: "From the majestic 5.29ha holding of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti purchased from the Marey-Monge family in 1988 and replanted in the 1990s. Tasted recently, the 2007 was forward and accessible, with a pronounced floral cast to the high-toned pomegranate and cranberry fruit character. The nose is still fairly primary in nature but it is starting to show just a bit of earthy, smoky evolution. There is still plenty of grip on the palate, with firm tannins, fresh acidity and enough extract to carry this wine the distance. (CC)" (11/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru (97RP, 97WS, 96BH, 96ST, 95JG, 95VN). Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the La Tâche vertical at The Square. It was initially difficult to choose between the 1999 and 2002 La Tâche, but in the end the former just ascended to the stratosphere, while the latter simply cruised, albeit at a very high altitude. Now at 13 years of age, there is just a slight bricking on the rim. It feels a little more forward than the 1999–a stylish and personality-driven bouquet with predominantly red berry fruit interlaced with warm bricks and undergrowth (much more so of the latter compared to the 1999). The palate is beautifully balanced with exquisite tannin, perfect acidity and an effortless, you might say easygoing personality. That is deceptive because it is a complex and utterly harmonious La Tâche that is the epitome of elegance. Unlike the 1999, I would broach this now with an hour's decanting. Wonderful. Decanter: "For the seventh time since 1999, the domaine has released their Vosne-Romanée premier cru. Prior to this the grapes from these holdings were sold off, including small amounts of Gaudichots and Au-dessus de Malconsorts. According to Bertrand de Villaine, co-manager of the estate, the grapes from the 0.405 hectares in Vosne-Romanée Petits Monts used to go into Duvault-Blochet but are now bottled separately for French restaurants, with the difference made up by young vines from the grands crus to deliver a wine of impressive dark blackberry fruit and spice, with less obvious oak and better length and depth of flavour than the Corton – delicious! It frankly puts all the preceding Richebourg wines in the shade. The palate is beautifully balanced and poised, finely tuned with a crescendo of red fruit and a perfect bead of acidity. Bid on this bottle of 1995 Henri Jayer Echézeaux Grand Cru (93BH). Burghound: "A deeply earthy and very animale nose that is just beginning to display some secondary nuance on the densely fruited nose that continues onto the developing but not quite ready flavors that possess excellent concentration and much better phenolic ripeness than many '95s, all wrapped in a powerful, delicious and still firm and long finish. This is one of those wines that is still on its way up yet far enough along that one can easily begin to see how good it will finally be when it arrives at its majority. In sum, the '95 Ech is not one of Hanky J's very best efforts but it's still a first class pleasure to drink. For my taste, it could use another 4 to 5 years in the cellar first. Another bottle tasted in December 2015 was riddled with brett and fairly unpleasant." (12/2006)
