This wine delivers a benchmark Anderson Valley flavor profile at a price point that is simply unbeatable. Over-delivering on value has always been at the core of the Anonymous Wine Collective, and I'm certain this wine does that and then some. I'm thrilled with the end result of this bottling that I was able to compose from barrel samples dialing in the exact character I wanted to capture from this top quality vintage and great but (top secret) vineyard source. The wine is loaded is pure forest berry fruit, dusty, earthy spices, brambles, Redwood grove, and alpine herbs. Elegant and silky, but full of flavor and layered nuance. For $20 I challenge you to find a more complete bottle of Pinot Noir that delivers the goods so emphatically! Enjoy!

The 2023 ‘Geyserville’ is a marvelous, silky blend of mainly Zinfandel (70%) with 18% Carignane, 9% Petite Sirah and a touch of Alicante Boushet. Very dark in the glass, this delivers beautiful violet rose petals alongside mocha, tar, Cuban cigar and notes of garrigue with loganberry compote. The palate is fresh and refined, with an elegant mid-palate mouthfeel and light dusting of salinity. Well-structured and weighted, offering plenty of depth and flavor density, this is a marvelous effort that has yet to fully hit its stride —- but the incredible potential is there. The combination of weight and tension suggests this will be very long-lived. Give this another year in the cellar before uncorking. Drink 2026-2045.

This is Ernest's first vintage of the Sauvignon Blanc from Hopkins River Ranch, an organically farmed site of old vines on the cooler east side of the Russian River. Winemaker Joseph Ryan notes that the old Clone 1 vines produce notoriously large clusters, which is why the harvest in 2024 didn't happen until late August, a delay that allowed the aromatics and flavor complexity to catch up with the vine's generous yield. In the cellar, Ryan creates a wine that feels balanced and really pleasant overall. With so much natural high acidity on the site, he lets the wine go through full malolactic fermentation and eight months on the lees in stainless steel, which soften the acid's sharper edges but maintain the site's high-toned energy while creating a cushion for those aromatics to land. There is a custard-like density on the palate driven by the concentrated oils of kumquat and tropical orange peel, with a fresh, herbal lift that slices right through the initial richness. (AQC)

An extremely dense, vibrant and oak-infused wine that is concentrated in citrus, green apple, evergreen and oak spice flavors. It's full-bodied, earthy, leesy, toasted and nutty on the palate. Saline and spice elements compete with ripe fruits for attention. Drink or hold.

A compelling, brooding, muscular rendition of Cabernet from Alexander Valley with gorgeous boysenberry notes, black currants, and rose petals laced with vanillin notes and toasty oak. Medium to full-bodied with black currants, ripe blackberry and black cherry notes framed by velvety tannins laced with that irresistible vanillin note. Toasty oak spices lend a hint of sweetness, balanced by grippy acidity. Long and complex, revealing umami, garrigue, and crushed slatestone on the finish. It's a terrific wine from the Alexander Valley. (JC)

Made from Chardonnay grapes, this exudes class with its silky mousse once on the mouth. Baking spice dusted brioche notes combine with lemon rind and copious minerals on the palate. Truly outstanding with its length, viscosity and underlying tension, this beautiful wine will cellar well for at least a decade.
A pleasing mix of wild berries and red and black cherries with hints of cola and spices. Medium-bodied, plush and refined, showing orange black tea and a little anise in the finish. Drink or hold. (CH)

The 2023 Pinot Noir The South Slope Vineyard pours a ruby red color and is lush with aromas of graphite, violets, cherry liqueur, and cedar. The palate is refined and refreshing, with a mid-weight feel, and it has finely coiled tannins, bright acidity, and a good deal of length through a wonderful and delicately salty finish. For my taste, it has a slight edge over the rest from this tasting. (AF)
Sourced from Lafranchi, Westside Farms, Sonoma Foothills, Martinelli Laughlin, Kilcullen, Dutton Sebastopol, and Frank Johnson—all cool-climate sites with low-vigour soils such as Goldridge loam, planted between 1978 and 2017 and aged for 12 months on the lees in barrel (10% new French oak). This is clean and sleek, a beautifully balanced medium-bodied Chardonnay with luxuriously ripe stone and orchard fruit. Exotic baking spices complement layers of guava, white peach, and macerated mango with apricot. But what’s most impressive is the intensity and purity of the fruit—so precisely delineated, profoundly spicy, and laser-focused. At $50, this is one of the finest, most balanced, and well-structured Chardonnays from the Russian River Valley at this price point. (JC)

This is the second edition of Anonymous that we’ve produced in partnership with this incredible, world-renowned winery—a relationship that dates back to earlier editions of our emeritus house label, Kalinda. The last release was a single-vineyard, single-block wine. This time, working hand in hand with the winemaking team, we felt the synergy of multiple components created something even more compelling than any one individual element. The blend brings together estate-grown fruit with several barrels sourced from highly renowned, Grand Cru–level single vineyards. The wine is composed primarily of heritage clones—Hyde (Calera selection), Swan, and Pommard—with smaller portions of Dijon clones. The fruit was fermented in small, open-top tanks with native yeast and approximately 20% whole-cluster inclusion. After fermentation, the wine was aged for 15 months in French oak (30% new) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Working with this team is a true pleasure. With decades of winemaking pedigree and multiple 100-point wines to their credit, this partnership embodies everything the Anonymous Wine Project stands for. Under its own label, this wine typically retails for $80–$100. The value made possible through anonymity is simply sensational.
The 2024 Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) really overdelivers. It’s an ideal expression of the Russian River Valley, with all the bright, sunny orchard fruit and spritzy citrus lift you could hope for, but also an extra measure of freshness and juiciness that leaves the mouth watering. Notably restrained, the 2024 shows excellent finesse, especially for an appellation-level bottling. (BN)
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Le Coeur (Vérité) Alexander Valley Tannat. Le Coeur Tannat is a distinctive wine produced by Pierre Seillan, the esteemed winemaker behind Vérité, as part of Jackson Family Wines. Sourced from high-elevation vineyards in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, this wine showcases the Tannat grape, traditionally associated with France's Madiran region. Le Coeur Tannat is celebrated for its deep ruby color and complex bouquet, featuring aromas of black plum, black cherry preserves, fresh violets, and French roast coffee. On the palate, it offers a linear and racy texture, with firm tannins, high acidity, and a pronounced mineral note of wet stones, culminating in a bright, lingering finish. This wine exemplifies Seillan's dedication to crafting wines that reflect both varietal character and the unique terroir of Sonoma County.

Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 2006 Martinelli "Lolita Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. According to the Producer's Website: The Lolita Ranch is located on Martinelli Road in Forestville. Giuseppe & Luisa had purchased the steep, forested landscape in the late 1800's and then later sold this particular section to a neighbor. On this site, circa 1900, there once stood a small country schoolhouse where some of the Martinelli family attended at the turn of the century. Eventually the ranch was passed on to Bob and Lolita Young, who ran a herd of Angus and Hereford cattle on the land for many years. Third generation farmer, Lee Martinelli Jr., and his wife Pamela acquired the property in 1999, returning it back to the Martinelli estate and to the family’s continuing century-long legacy of viticulture. Lee Jr. planted the steep hillside with four different grape varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel.

Wine Advocate: "More weight and power along with notes of roasted hazelnuts, peach, and smoky, almost clarified butter smells emerge from the 2005 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch. More extroverted and exuberant than the McCrea cuvee, it is an unusually elegant effort (because the acids are crisp and refreshing) that should drink beautifully for 7-8 years. Kistler Vineyards, undeniably one of the world’s finest winemaking estates, is run with passionate dedication to detail and quality by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler. It is wines like these that keep an old critic like me inspired and energized. (RP)" (12/2006)

The Setting 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley comes from one of the coldest sites from which they farm Cabernet Sauvignon. A dark red color, the wine is forward with blue-fruited highlights and shining with notes of juniper, pine, violets, forest floor, and fresh herbs. It’s long, elegant, and focused on the palate, with a more linear feel, an even plushness of tannins, and redcurrants, cassis, and vanilla shining through to the long finish. (AF)

From the slightly deep gold color and toasty, complex aromas to vibrant raspberry and ginger flavors, this is an elegant, dramatic wine that’s benefited from extended time on the lees. The 2023 Pinot Noir DuMOL Estate Vineyard is positively stunning. A blend of Calera and Swan, the 2023 dazzles from start to finish. It embodies all the elements of the DuMOL house style. Vibrant and persistent, the 2023 offers tremendous textural intensity and fine, fine balance. Red/purplish fruit, blood orange, mint, cloves and lavender build into the long, sustained finish. Quite simply, this is one of the very best wines I have ever tasted at DuMOL.
The 2025 Sauvignon Blanc Estate reveals silver leaf, white pepper, and white pineapple tones and is morphing into something special. Sourced from old vines selected by taste by Tom Rochioli, it balances tropical hints with focus and precision. Not overtly tropical, it instead leans into intensity, structure, and tension that should continue to develop beautifully over the next decade. Drink over the coming 10 years.
Coming from all Goldridge soils, the 2023 Pinot Noir Ryan is from Martini and Calera selections and incorporates 20% whole clusters. Its herbaceous character leans toward a slightly more rustic edge, the nose opening to notes of ripe cherries, mossy earth, and crushed flowers. Medium to full-bodied, the palate takes on more concentration and has a lovely richness, ripe tannins, and classic Russian River character with a hint of warmth. Drink 2026-2040.
A brilliant, focused and concentrated red that offers a great blend of tart and ripe fruit with ample dark spice accents and moderate tannins. So well balanced, concentrated and harmonious, with violet, lilac, black cherry, blueberry, savory and pine aromas and touches of mushrooms and forest floor. Full-bodied. Drink now or hold. (JG)
The 2021 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley was harvested between 4 September and 8 October. The blend comprises 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot and 1% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. After blending, it was barrel-aged for 24 months in American oak, 50% of which was new, followed by 14 months of bottle ageing prior to release. The wine is beautifully layered and highly fragrant, with remarkable precision and focus in this vintage. Medium- to full-bodied, it integrates the hallmark Silver Oak American spice character through cedarwood aromatics, elegant whispers of vanilla bean, and nuances of fresh fennel (from more refined American oak barrels crafted after precision trials of both seasoning and toasting from the American oak cooperage they own in Higbee, Missouri). Supple dark-cherry and blackberry fruit are framed by graphite minerality, violets and clove, building in richness and complexity across the palate. Suave and silken, the dark-berry fruit is wrapped in a tapestry of velvety tannins, gliding to a focused finish of brown baking spices and crisp, clean acidity. (JC)

Deep garnet-purple in color, the single-varietal 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon shoots from the glass with vivacious notes of redcurrants, black raspberries, and dried Provence herbs followed by hints of pencil shavings and damp soil. Forest spice, pine, and cherry cordial define the 2023 Pinot Noir Champ De Mars, and it could easily pass for Gevrey-Chambertin in a blind tasting. Rose petals, sauvage notes, dark cherry fruit, and savory earth all emerge with air. Suede-like tannins and saline freshness frame the wine beautifully, giving it both immediate intrigue and long-term aging potential. Drink 2026-2050.

The history of Freemark Abbey began in 1886, when Josephine Marlin Tychson became the first woman to build and operate a winery in California. The historic site where Josephine's winery, Tychson Cellars, once stood is now known as Freemark Abbey. Josephine, a native of San Lorenzo, California and her husband, John Tychson, a Danish immigrant, moved to St. Helena in 1881. For $8,500, they purchased 147 acres north of St. Helena, which later became known as "Tychson Hill". Shortly after her husband's death, Josephine began construction of a fifty square foot redwood winery which would grow to hold a capacity of about 30,000 gallons. In addition, she hired Nils Larsen, an experienced vintner, as her foreman. Josephine successfully produced wine for the next eight years and then sold the winery to Larsen in 1894. In turn, Larsen leased the winery to Antonio Forni, a good friend of Josephine's. Forni later purchased the property in 1898. Forni is responsible for building a new winery on the old site of the Tychson structure. In the years that followed, Freemark Abbey went through a period of several different owners until 1966, when a group of partners purchased the winery. Ted Edwards is one of the longest tenured winemakers in Napa Valley. After forty years as director of winemaking at Freemark Abbey, Ted transitioned to the role of Winemaker Emeritus in 2020.

Today we're offering a one-time deal on a one-off wine. This amazing old vine field blend is such a unique and interesting offering. Sourced from a century old planting of vines in the Russian River Valley of mixed varietals all interplanted with one another. The vineyard is farmed organically and without irrigation. The blend for this wine includes roughly equal parts Alicante Bouschet, Carignane, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Zinfandel. Anthill owner / winemaker Anthony Filiberti took this old vine fruit and fermented it whole-cluster and partially using carbonic maceration (sealed tank) to create a unique expression of this historic vineyard. While most old vine blends of this type are big, rich, ripe wines, the Anthill Bertoli is notably medium bodied, with brighter fruit, floral spice tones, and a very modest 12% alcohol. It reminds me a little of the more elegant style of Nebbiolo with it's subtle power and aromatic lift. The wine still has depth and substance, and the 20% Alicante Bouchet means the color is still pretty intense and deep, but it's really fun to see what these old vines without the 15% alcohol and fruit ripeness that one might expect. I think its a wonderfully versatile wine for pizza, pasta, BBQ, burgers. Oh, and our Insider's Advantage price, for such a unique wine, under $20...that's half price and moves it right into the everyday drinker category. This is rocking wine for the price and little piece of history in a bottle.

Focused aromas of black cherry, licorice and violets come in waves on the nose of this Pinot, while the palate displays concentrated flavors of Bing cherry, cola spice, floral potpourri and orange peel that linger for a solid minute.
The 2023 Chardonnay Chloe is a blend of fruit from Flora Marie and Bressay. It presents a distinctly tropical fruit profile to match its textured, opulent personality. There's plenty of brightness and acid to play off its more overt qualities. Readers who like richer wines (within this context) will find much to admire. Peach, apricot, chamomile and lightly honeyed notes extend the finish.
Joe Rochioli Jr. planted Pinot Noir on his family’s Russian River Valley property in 1968, helping establish the area’s reputation for the grape. The 2024 Rochioli “Estate” Pinot Noir continues that family connection, rooted in the Rochioli estate on Westside Road near Healdsburg in Sonoma County.

Whoa—the 2019 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons explodes from the glass with bombastic scents of sea spray, freshly shaved ginger, lemon curd and grapefruit plus emerging hints of green guava, lime cordial and coriander seed with a waft of struck flint.
