Of the 2017 Donnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Auslese #17 Goldkapsel Nahe (375ml), James Suckling writes: "Hold on to your hat! This is so concentrated and so filigree. The super-mineral finish tugs at your lapels trying to pull you with it into the distance. Don't resist! Good for several decades at least. " (12/2017)

The 2025 Riesling Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Grosses Gewächs is from vines that share a birth year with Helmut Dönnhoff, i.e. 1949. They are rooted in shale. Only very slight flint accompanies the luminous lemon that becomes even more concentrated and clean-cut on the stony palate. This is utter zestiness, like a well of freshness, a source of light, a measure of purity and clarity. It is ultra-crystalline, ultra-straight, ultra-steely, ultra-delicious. (Bone-dry) (AK)

Very cool and lemony, with plenty of garden herb aromas, this is a very sleek and focused dry riesling that’s barely medium-bodied. Very crisp finish with some herbal and green apple flavors. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

92 points, Falstaff: "Estate Riesling Type 1: Extract and balance. On the nose: lime zest, slate, herbs, orange blossom. On the palate, characterized by mineral extract; dense, gripping, with a taut structure and good length. Inviting to drink, very fresh, perfectly on point."
An extremely cool and elegant wine for this vineyard site, which can give quite round wines. Delicately pithy on the mid-palate, then the lemon character and crisp acidity kicks in. Long, very clean finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.
Exceptionally refined and racy, this has terrific Amalfi lemon freshness and white peach fruit on the very focused, medium-bodied palate. Incredible drive in the super-long finish. The aromatic finesse of the wild flower, peach and Amalfi lemon nose is almost as great as the textural finesse. Incredible delicacy in the super-long finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese (94RP). Wine Advocate: "Green tea, lavender, honeysuckle and framboise distillate penetratingly scent Donnhoff’s 2010 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Spatlese, their proxies reappearing, along with fresh lime, red raspberry, and drippingly-ripe pear, on a palate of striking purity, refinement, and levity. To an undertone of wet stone in the finish are added site-typical saline, carnal, and brown butter savor. Look for two decades of bewitchment from this beauty. “When I saw the analyses that came back on this year’s Spatlesen, ” notes Donnhoff, "I had them run again because I couldn’t believe we had close to 100 Oechsle even on the least of them." This is like a whole garden of fresh herbs bathed in morning dew plus a touch of fully ripe gooseberries. This starts quite round and very silky on the medium-bodied palate, then the energy and structure gently build to a serious crescendo. Fantastic harmony right through the very long finish. Drink from release.
The 2024 Riesling Bockenauer Stromberg Grosses Gewächs was largely made from 100-year-old vines (Fröhlich's oldest) rooted in porphyry. Its flinty reduction is perfumed with crushed passion fruit foliage and chervil. This has sinus-clearing lift and absolute poise. The palate is taut, bright and concentrated, with an immense zestiness of tangerine and grapefruit notes. They tingle with aroma and yet this has the firmest, sveltest core. The 2024 is thrilling, pure, long, pervasive and otherworldly. (Bone-dry)(AK)
The 2006 Norheimer Dellchen Riesling Auslese seems to be following a mission for this site to display in the most elegant, delicate, and seemingly effortless way the concentrated ripeness of the vintage, in the process proving Donnhoff’s hypothesis that – like the Hermannshohle – Dellchen “has talent at all levels of residual sugar.” This Auslese puts away the botrytis as the dry Spatlese dispatched its alcohol and the sweet Spatlese its residual sugar. A cherry-nectarine liqueur redolent of distilled essences and laced with lemon generates an inner-mouth explosion of floral perfume. Deep honey and chocolate richness well-up but do not pull this masterpiece down from its orbital state. I would not pull a cork for 15 years nor be in any hurry (were I a young man) to drink it up in less than 40 years. (DS)
The 2024 Riesling was picked across soils and sites from younger vines. Bright lemon and peach notes tingle with grapefruit spice and sunny friendliness. The palate is precise, superbly slender and crystalline. Exquisite lightness and purity make this ripple across the palate. (Bone-dry)(AK)
This combines fantastic peachy fruit with gin-like herbal complexity. That follows through on the medium-bodied palate, where restrained ripeness and racy acidity are beautifully balanced. Very long and pure finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold.
The nose on the 2006 is deep, pure and primary, as it offers up notes of cherries, tangerine, bee pollen, floral tones and a serious mother load of minerality. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and pure, with laser-like focus, gem-like transparency, brisk acids, and simply stunning cut and grip on the very long, pure and ethereal finish. Another magnificent 2006 wine from Helmut Dönnhoff.
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2022 Donnhoff Höllenpfad Riesling im Mühlenberg Grosses Gewächs Nahe (97JS, (93-95VN)). James Suckling: "What a dramatic wine this is, at once ripe and austere, super-stony and super-herbal with a touch of peppermint. Compact core in spite of the sleek and very focused body. Electric freshness at the vibrant finish although the acidity is anything but dominant. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold." (06/2023)

Germany’s Nahe wine region is named for the Nahe River, a tributary of the Rhine. Hexamer’s 2025 Riesling pairs that regional identity with the designation “Trocken”—the German labeling term for dry wine, a useful distinction in a grape made across a broad range of sweetness levels.
Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg is a named vineyard site in Meddersheim, within Germany’s Nahe wine region. Hexamer’s 2023 Riesling carries the Spätlese Prädikat, a German classification tied to grape must weight at harvest, placing both vineyard origin and harvest classification clearly at the center of this wine’s identity.

The 2024 Riesling Monzinger Kabinett was picked in Halenberg and Niederberg. This comes with full grapefruit- and blossom-tinged charm. It’s light and bright, with citrus and stone notes twirling and swaying across the palate. This is wonderfully weightless and so seductive. The 2024 is a simply superb Kabinett with 52 g/L residual sugar that tends to disappear in the face of 9.4 g/L of acidity. (Medium) (AK(
Dried lemons with aromatic herbs, an austere stony note. The palate is medium to full bodied, with great detail, persistent with great balance and elegance. With nuance and detail throughout, and a subtle texture emerging. (JGA)
The 2025 Riesling Norheimer Dellchen Grosses Gewächs is a site that mixes shale with porphyry on terraces with excellent water availability. The nose trembles with reduction and scent, with citrus and flint. Stony clarity, beautiful poise and utter linearity make this a svelte dynamo of stone and ripe lemon, gaining speed and trailing juiciness and zest. All about this pushes forward with lively, energetic lemon and stone force. Simply wonderful and so deliciously bracing. (Bone-dry) (AK)

The 2025 Riesling Tonschiefer is from the Oberhäuser Leistenberg with a smaller addition of pre-harvests from sites like Hermannshöhle, on shale. Gorgeous green apple has a lovely citrus verve alongside its tender reduction. Slender on the palate, this trembles with verve and beautifully clear-cut, pristine and precise citrus and apple fruit. Wonderful as a statement and calling card. (Bone-dry) (AK)
The 2025 Riesling Schlossböckelheimer Felsenberg Grosses Gewächs is from melaphyre and comes with an intriguing nose that unites pepper, grapefruit zest, salty earth and a touch of quince. Stoniness and tingling, salty stone define the palate with clarity, precision and majestic straightness. Beautiful linearity brings such clarity, such poise, such dynamic movement and an airy, soaring quality. A pure and airy expression of Riesling, seemingly from naked stone. (Bone-dry) (AK)
Floral and aromatic, with bergamot, white pepper. The palate has succulent acidity and precision but with an expressive side that is atractive with linear acidity that drives the finish. (JGA)
From the Altenberg vineyard in Meddersheim, this 2023 Riesling carries the Kabinett designation within Germany’s Prädikatswein system. Kabinett is defined by the grapes’ must weight at harvest, placing the wine in the first tier of the Prädikat classification and linking its identity directly to ripeness achieved in the vineyard.
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese (96RP, 95JG, 91WS). Wine Advocate: "High-toned, distillate-like herbal extracts along with ripe fresh strawberry, apple and quince inform the scintillating nose and electrical charged palate of Donnhoff’s 2011 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Spatlese... Hints of pits and seed, along with black tea, nut oils, zesty citrus, and myriad mineral impingements add to a sense of quickening that goes well beyond mere invigoration in this gem’s strikingly persistent, shimmeringly vibrant finish. I was left with salivary glands palpitating and arms covered in gooseflesh. It will probably be hard to resist such a wine at any point over the next quarter century, but those with the requisite remaining life expectancy should make an effort to defer for the duration the pleasure of at least the last bottle or two. Of the 2011 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Trocken Grosses Gewächs Nahe, John Gilman writes: "Not to be outdone by the Dellchen, the 2011 Hermannshöhle Grosses Gewächs is also profound! The deep and completely kaleidoscopic nose soars from the glass in a magical blend of white cherries, pink grapefruit, crystalline minerality, citrus peel, lemongrass and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and Porsche-like in the passing lane, with stunning mid-palate depth, ripe, racy acids, brilliant focus and grip and a very, very pure and very long and elegant finish. A seamless and utterly stunning young wine! 97+ " (04/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2001 Dönnhoff Norheimer Dellchen Riesling Auslese Nahe (95RP, 94WS) and 1-bottle of 2001 Dönnhoff Schlossböckelheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spätlese (95RP). Of the 2001 Dönnhoff Norheimer Dellchen Riesling Auslese Nahe, Wine Advocate writes: "The 2001 Riesling Auslese Norheimer Dellchen exhibits aromas reminiscent of spicy onions and minerals. Candied red berries (always a sign of superb ripeness when found in a Riesling), stones, and chamomile can be discerned in this medium to full-bodied offering's lush, intricate character. This muscular, velvety-textured wine regales the palate with persistent waves of fruit whose flavors linger in its exceptional finish. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2025. (RP)" (11/2002)

Bid on this 5-bottle tasting lot; including 2 1999 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese and 3 2011 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese (96JG, 96RP, 92VN, 91WS). Of the 2011 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese, Wine Advocate writes: "A riveting, high-toned aromatic diversity announces the Donnhoff 2011 Niederhauser Hermannshohle Riesling Spatlese with themes that inform an at once creamy yet subtly tannic and vibrant palate: quince, pear, lychee, nut oils, fusel oils, distilled herbal essences, brown spices, and smoky black tea... The rich nuttiness and glaze of honey as well as sheer succulence of fruit make for a more opulent performance than that of Brucke, but to say that this is less energetic or dynamic would be misleading. Its incessant interplay of elements is utterly kaleidoscopic -- just more calmly harmonious than the Spatlese from next door..." (02/2013)

The 2024 Riesling Bockenauer Felseneck Grosses Gewächs was grown on blue Devonian slate. It is lifted and fragrant, hitting the nose with lemony smokiness. The palate is so linear, poised, buffered and svelte. This has muscle, tension and clarity, stretching into the coolest, stoniest infinity. The more air it gets, the more the lemon awakens.
