Produced at Glengyle Distillery, Kilkerran comes from Campbeltown, a historic Scotch whisky center on Scotland’s Kintyre Peninsula. Glengyle resumed distilling in 2004 after decades of silence, restoring another working distillery to the town. This Heavily Peated release is the thirteenth small batch in Kilkerran’s ongoing series.

The blend of grain whisky and malt is a creation offering myriad possibilities. Òran is, unashamedly, an old school blend - one recognizable to whisky lovers in the heyday of blended whisky some 100 years ago. Where the grain and malt contents are created separately but ultimately act as the perfect foil for the other. Founded in 1832, Glen Scotia is one of Campbeltown’s three operating whisky distilleries, preserving a legacy from a town that once supported more than 30. This 10-year-old single malt connects that remarkable distilling history with one of Scotland’s five recognized Scotch whisky regions.

For devotees of Springbank, vintage releases occupy a category of their own, and this extraordinary 1994 bottling captures everything that has made the distillery one of Scotland’s most revered producers. Established in Campbeltown in 1828, Springbank remains fiercely traditional, carrying out the entire production process on site and preserving labor-intensive methods long abandoned elsewhere. Its lightly peated spirit and unusual two-and-a-half-times distillation create the oily texture, maritime depth, and eccentric complexity that define the house style. This rare vintage marries whisky matured in 80% bourbon, 10% sherry, and 10% red wine casks, bottled at 45.1% ABV with just 1,180 bottles released. The nose opens with dried pineapple, mango, ripe melon, honey, sandalwood, and that unmistakable earthy, old-school Springbank character. The palate brings caramelized lemon, custard cream, tropical fruit, polished wood, and toffee popcorn before turning savory and herbal on the finish, with coconut, fresh basil, gorse, and lingering Campbeltown earthiness. A deeply individual malt and a genuine piece of Springbank history.

Founded in Campbeltown in 1828, Springbank remains family-owned and conducts every stage of production on site, from malting barley to bottling. “The Kohinoor” is a 1992 single malt matured for 27 years in refill hogshead No. 244 and bottled at cask strength in a 700ml format.

This spectacular old Highland Park comes from Farr Vintners' tiny York Road Bottlers program, created to showcase individual casks from distilleries they genuinely love. Distilled at Highland Park in 2000 and bottled in 2022 at 22 years old, this single cask yielded just 144 bottles at a natural cask strength of 52.9% ABV, without chill filtration or added coloring. The whisky was chosen as the inaugural release in Farr's Artist Series and given a presentation worthy of such a rare old Orkney malt. Each bottle comes in a handsome Glencairn decanter housed inside a bespoke cutaway wooden box, with one side displaying the whisky details and the other featuring an original work commissioned from celebrated British artist Dan Hillier. Hillier called the piece "Grene Man," using the old English spelling of the folkloric Green Man, and his unmistakable combination of Victorian engraving, mythology and surrealism makes this one of the most striking whisky packages we've encountered. Hillier, whose work also appeared on Royal Blood's debut album and in projects for the Louvre and Shakespeare's Globe, sadly died in 2024. Beyond the remarkable presentation, the numbers here speak for themselves: genuine 22-year-old single-cask Highland Park from the 2000 vintage, bottled without chill-filtration, with only 144 decanters produced. An exceptionally rare independent Highland Park and a remarkable artifact from both the distillery and one of Britain's most distinctive contemporary artists.
