Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Bodegas Mauro "Terreus" Castilla y León (93ST, 91RP). 93 points Stephen Tanzer: "Bright, saturated ruby to the rim. Knockout nose combines black raspberry, black cherry, Valrhona chocolate, mocha, roasted nuts and exotic spices. Hugely concentrated and deep, but extremely unevolved today; dense and thick but sound acids and strong mineral character give shape to the dark berry and torrefaction flavors. Supple, thick tannins saturate the entire palate. Still tightly wound, but very long on the aftertaste. A worthy successor to the extraordinary '96 bottling." (Sep/Oct 2000)

Of the 2019 Bodega Chacra "Single Vineyard" Chardonnay Rio Negro, James Suckling writes: "The tension and density are so in balance, showing flint and matchstick notes. Full-bodied, creamy and very salty with a long, focused finish. Love the tight, subdued character here. A thoughtful, serious wine that needs contemplation. Drinkable now, but better in 2022 and onwards." (02/2020)

Of the 2011 Rotie Cellars "Little g" Washington Grenache, Wine Advocate writes: "More open-knit than the 2010, with a sexy, supple profile, the 2011 Grenache Little g had just been bottled at the time of this tasting. Made from 100% Grenache and possessing a light ruby, transparent color, it offers up lovely kirsch, rose petal, licorice and underbrush to go with a medium-bodied, voluptuous and sweetly fruited palate that has no hard edges, building richness and a seamless, elegant finish. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Catena Zapata "Nicasia" Malbec Mendoza (OWC - 96RP, 95DC, 95JS, 94VN) in original wood. Wine Advocate: "The Catena Zapata range comprises some single-vineyard wines, like the 2014 Malbec Catena Zapata Nicasia Vineyard that comes from a plot of ungrafted vines planted in Altamira in 1996 using Malbec cuttings from the ancient Angélica vineyard. Cropped from a year that delivered moderate alcohol and notable acidity, it fermented with full clusters in 2, 000- and 5, 000-liter oak foudres with indigenous yeasts. It matured in French oak barrels for 24 months. This shows superbly and is open and expressive, very classical and elegant, floral and mineral, with no excess whatsoever. The palate reveals superb balance, really harmonious and elegant. This one might be overlooked because there is a lot of attention given to the Malbecs from Adrianna vineyard, but this is really at the same quality level. (LG)" (06/2018)

Bid on this bottle of Caribou Crossing Single Barrel Canadian Whisky, a five-star pick from respected Canadian whisky critic Davin de Kergommeaux and one of the very best barrels drawn from the Sazerac Company’s stock of over 200,000 barrels aging in Canada. Its source distillery remains a mystery, though many suspect the well-regarded Alberta Distillery. Davin de Kergommeaux writes: “Nose: Rich rye spices, vanilla, and butterscotch with lots of dark fruit. Stewed prunes and a hint of spirit. Elements of Cognac. Palate: Soft, creamy corn, with prunes, spice, and citric pith... What starts out as a ‘nice’ palate becomes more and more interesting as pleasing tannins, peppery spices, and ripe red fruits slowly emerge from the vanilla creaminess.”

Bid on this bottle of 1981 The Rare Armagnac Collection (Domaine de Pouchegu) 39 Year Old K&L Exclusive Lot G681-20 Vintage Armagnac, a rare vintage brandy from the legendary Ténarèze estate of the late Pierre Laporte, whose meticulous Armagnacs became cult favorites among K&L customers. Laporte credited his brandies to great care in the vineyard, sable fauve sandy soils, hiring the best distiller and new Limousin oak every vintage. After his passing, his stocks were located still in barrel, untouched by blending or adjustment. The Rare Armagnac Collection, a small bottler dedicated to unearthing exceptional Armagnacs from small estates, bottled this parcel without additives or reduction. Though the label doesn’t carry Laporte’s name or domaine, this nearly four-decade-old vintage preserves his remarkable legacy. Expect dried apricot, prune, candied orange and fig layered with toffee, vanilla, roasted nuts, leather and rancio, with a long, elegant finish.

Bid on this bottle of G4 “Premium - High Proof” Blanco Tequila, a cult favorite from master distiller Felipe Camarena’s El Pandillo distillery in the Jalisco Highlands, named for the four generations of the Camarena family who have made tequila. G4 is celebrated for its uncompromising traditional craft: 100% highland blue Weber agave, slow-cooked in brick ovens and crushed with “Frankenstein,” Felipe’s custom-built mechanical tahona, then fermented and distilled using a distinctive blend of collected rainwater and natural spring water. Bottled at a higher proof for extra intensity, this unaged blanco bursts with cooked agave, wet stone, citrus zest, black pepper, fresh herbs and a touch of minerality, with a rich, oily palate and a long, peppery, mouthwatering finish. A collectible, purist’s tequila for agave enthusiasts, best sipped neat.

Bid on this bottle of Evan Williams 12 Year Old "Red Label" 101 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Japanese Import). Here we have it! Bourbon aficionados will know that it's extremely rare to find an age-stated whiskey from Heaven Hill, and that's what makes the Evan Williams 12 Year Old "Red Label" such a discovery. Bottled at 101 proof, it's an amped up version of everything the EW devotees love about this brand. The nose is dominated by classic tones of maple and brown sugar with a little bit of praline and toffee to take things even further into opulence. The rich palate conveys honeyed almonds, butterscotch, candied orange peel, and hints of fresh tobacco leaf. At this proof, there is heat to this dram, but the overall intensity of the profile more than stands up to the heat. This is a bottling that any fan of Heaven Hill should have behind their bar, in their cabinet, or stashed away for special friends or special occasions.

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Woodford Reserve Master's Collection "Seasoned Oak Finish" Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. According to the Malt Advocate: The fourth in the series of limited-edition bottling, and one of the better ones. The impact on the whiskey by finishing it in barrels made with staves that have been seasoned 3-5 years really is evident here. There’s plenty of wood spice, and I think it goes well with the sweet pot still characteristics of the whiskey. On the nose, the flavors are nicely intertwined. But on the palate, the sweeter notes (caramel, nutty toffee, fig, ripe berries, black cherry) appear first, with the dry, spicy notes (cinnamon, clove, cocoa powder, vanilla, polished leather, maduro tobacco) building to a firmly dry finish. A solid effort and very distinctive!
