The 86 Co. Ford's Gin (750ml)

The wonderful Ford's Gin has become a go to for many bartenders and no surprise thanks to it's loveable creator Simon Ford. It's pretty simple really. First, get one of London's great old gin houses to produce an ultra high quality gin for you. Make sure it's distinctive, but versatile. Maybe add a hint of Grapefruit - nobody is doing that. Next, ship the ultra high-proof bulk spirit to the states for proofing and bottling at Charbay in Ukiah. Kick it with Marko, drink a lot. Finally, sell it for an incredibly fair price. It's that easy. Now you know how to start your own Spirits Company. Or just buy 86 Co.'s Ford's Gin and relax.

Wiston’s Brut NV has always been a great wine, but this iteration is one of the best I’ve tasted. The 2018-base bottling is roughly equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier with 20% reserve wine from vintages dating back to 2009, bottled with 8g/L dosage. Golden and toasty/savoury. Just glorious in a generous but perfectly balanced way. Rich, savoury and self-assured, long and satisfying. Praline and apple crumble aromas. Rich but still fresh, with that nutty, appley theme. Quite evolved but in a great place. A generous and classy style, with excellent integration of green apple, stone fruit and fresh brioche. Lingering finish.

Hayman's Old Tom Gin (750ml)
Hayman's Old Tom Gin (750ml)
94WE

A relative newcomer to the gin landscape, this is the proper gin to use for a Tom Collins cocktail. It intentionally leans sweet, but it’s balanced with the right amount of alcohol bite, a lightly piny scent, and faint herbal and citrus peel notes. If using this 19th-century style sweetened gin for other cocktails, be sure to hold off on adding sugar. (KN)

Sipsmith VJOP Copper Stilled London Dry English Gin (750ml)

V.J.O.P. (Very Junipery Over Proof) is Sipsmith's aromatic ode to gin's favorite botanical. From the distillery: "Imagining the botanicals as components in an orchestra, here we have taken the lead instrument, juniper, and amplified its presence in the ensemble, and then raised the decibels by increasing the proof alcohol. The result is our very own symphony in 'J' major. Junipery pine and cedarwood dominate with hints of zesty orange."

This tonic is expensive, but it is worth it if you love your gin. I find it to be less sweet and have a high quality quinine flavor than the other tonics available. I have had it with Anchor Junipero, Hendrick's, Royal Dock Navy Strength Gin, Faultline, St. George Terroir Mt. Tam Gin and many others, but my favorite with the Fever Tree is the Cadenhead's Old Raj Gin. This combination, with a nice slice of lime and a couple of giant ice cubes is the most elegant gin and tonic that I have ever had!

The Lakes Distillery "The Whiskymaker's Edition: Rivêa" Lake District English Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

The Whiskymaker’s Editions from The Lakes Distillery offer the whiskymaker freedom to step outside the sherry-led core style and pursue inspirations that are instinctive, personal, and artistic. Rivêa is one such limited release, a fragrant detour born from the sun-drenched Ligurian Riviera. It captures the essence of cliffside villages, citrus groves, and turquoise coves, reimagined through the canvas of single malt whisky. On the nose, ripe Mediterranean figs mingle with fruit compote, honeysuckle, and wood spice, creating an aromatic score that is at once vibrant and delicate. The palate opens into blood orange, nectarine, and sweet red fruits with undertones of cherry, papaya, and soft oak spice, layered against a touch of citrus peel that brightens the experience. A smooth, fragrant finish ties it together, leaving impressions of fruit and spice in lingering balance. Bottled at 46.7% ABV, non-chill filtered, and natural in color, Rivêa showcases how expressive cask maturation can elevate a distillate’s innate character without overwhelming it. Released exclusively for the United States in April 2023, this bottling stands as both a playful and disciplined exploration of flavor, proof that The Lakes is not only defined by tradition but also by the artistry of inspiration itself.
