Insider's Advantage
Five generations of Armagnac production stand behind Château Lassalle Baqué, the Brocardo family’s estate in Montréal-du-Gers. Rémi Brocardo now oversees its 15 hectares of vines while working as a traveling distiller, with experience spanning Château Arton, L’Encantada, and Thailand’s Chalong Bay rum distillery. This collaboration with PM Spirits reaches into the older stocks laid down during his parents’ stewardship, before production paused in 1995 and resumed under Rémi in 2017. The 1992 vintage was made from Ugni Blanc grown on sandy, loamy boulbène soils, with Josette Brocardo responsible for the wine and itinerant distiller Yvan Saint-Martin performing a single distillation on a mobile Armagnac still. Matured for three decades in French oak in a humid cellar, the selected 410-liter cask #109 yielded just 480 bottles. Released at its natural cask strength of 47.1% ABV without additives or chill filtration. There's no reason this extremely rare aged spirit shouldn't cost many multiples of our current price, but at K&L we always pass the saving onto our customers. Don't wait to take advantage of this special offer.

Taylor's 1992 Vintage Port is unquestionably the greatest young port I have ever tasted. It represents the essence of what vintage port can achieve. The color is an opaque black/purple, and the nose offers up fabulously intense aromas of minerals, cassis, blackberries, licorice, and spices, as well as extraordinary purity and penetration. Yet this is still an unformed and infantile wine. If Chateau Latour made a late-harvest Cabernet Sauvignon, I suspect it might smell like this. In the mouth, the wine is out of this world, displaying layer upon layer of concentrated black fruits backed by well-integrated tannin and structure. This is a massive, magnificently rich, full-bodied port that will be far more flattering in its youth than were such Taylors as the 1983, 1977, or 1970. It possesses awesome fruit, marvelous intensity, and lavish opulence, all brilliantly well-delineated by the wine's formidable structure. This monumental 30-50 year port is a must purchase for port aficionados! (RP)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1992 Quinta do Infantado Vintage Port (95RP, 90WS). Wine Advocate: "There were only 1, 000 cases produced of the 1992 Vintage Port, and they are not likely to languish on retailers' shelves. A saturated, black/purple color is followed by a huge, ripe, pure nose of jammy blackberry and cassis fruit that is vaguely reminiscent of such great 1990 Hermitages as Chapoutier's Le Pavillon, Jaboulet's La Chapelle, or Chave's red label Cuvee Cathelin. Awesome concentration, massive body, an unctuous texture oozing with fruit, glycerin, and extract, and a blockbuster finish all suggest this will be a monumental port. (RP)" (02/1995)

Easily one of the most picturesque properties in the Gers, Chateau Vacquie has extreme potential thanks to its special terroir and passionate proprietor. There's absolutely nothing typical about Chateau Vacquie or its owner Bruno Compagnon. This special domaine has been identified by experts as being of exceptional quality. Most notably Aubert De Villaine, a friend of Bruno's who's personally examined the domaine and declared it be one of the finest in the southwest. Getting the approval from the owner of DRC does not begin to describe the incredible quality that lies within the chai of this exquisite domaine. The "Limited" releases are exactly that, only 2-3 bottles available to us and represent some of the finest spirits we've ever encountered of any kind. This stupendous vintage will never gain the legendary recognition it deserves simply because only a very lucky few will ever be afforded the opportunity to experience the incredible quality that this special unsung domaine has to offer. A superb spirit that has more in common with the oldest Single Malt or Rum than any modern day Armagnac production.
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1992 Guenoc "Langtry" California Meritage. Wine Spectator: "Elegant and harmonious, a big, ripe style with plum and black cherry flavors and a good dose of tannin. Backward and tightly wound, it definitely needs cellaring into 1998 to soften and mature." (12/1995)

Distilled on October 2, 1992, and matured for 31 years in a single Pedro Ximénez puncheon, Cask #1112 was bottled in 2024 at a formidable 56.7% ABV. The estimated release comprises only 655 bottles. The nose is deep and enveloping, combining sandalwood, sticky toffee, dark chocolate, bramble fruit, currants, and richly sherried fruitcake. Its palate is broad and velvety, with mocha, baked plum, treacle, raisin, and tart cranberry providing both richness and definition. The finish lingers on cocoa, maraschino cherry, and dark treacle. This is a monumental old GlenDronach, combining the opulence of long PX maturation with the weight, structure, and concentration of beautifully preserved cask-strength spirit.
