Henri Jayer Echezeaux Grand Cru
1984 Henri Jayer Echezeaux Grand Cru

Bid on this bottle of 1984 Henri Jayer Echezeaux Grand Cru. According to Jasper Morris, MW: "Henri Jayer's personal philosophy begun with the observation that 'wine must not be brought up in cotton-wool' and 'let nature go'. He was adamant that one cannot replace artificially elements in a wine which are absent at the start. Tinkering with musts and wine to adjust the results for inadequate fruit is not the way to achieve quality. Jayer channeled his energy and expertise in producing top-class grapes to vinify from vines that are more than 50 years old. Jayer's vinification methods were not particularly unusual but they reminded us that 'wine is for pleasure so one seeks as perfect an equilibrium as possible.'"

Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia
1984 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia

Bid on this bottle of 1984 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (94RP, 91VN, 91WS). Wine Advocate: "The best showing ever for this wine from my perspective, this blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon is considered a relatively forward, accessible style of Grange. The color is still a dark plum/purple, and the wine shows plenty of sweet cassis, with notes of chocolate and toasty oak. The wine is opulent and luscious, with great intensity, full body, and fabulous extract. The acidity seems relatively low and integrated, and the tannins quite ripe. (RP)" (01/2002)

Bid on this bottle of 1984 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. BV's flagship wine, which is named for the founder of Beaulieu Vineyard, from the warm vintage of 1984. According the the winery's collectors' notes, the wine shows a maturing, medium full ruby-garnet color: "The bouquet is nicely elegant, with mint, berry and sweet cherry aromas that show more richness and depth than the palate. The flavors are slightly stewed (it was a warm vintage), yet also a bit acidic, while showing quite a lot of fullness."

1984 Mayacamas Napa Valley Late Harvest Zinfandel

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1984 Mayacamas Napa Valley Late Harvest Zinfandel. Wine Spectator: "Jammy and Port-like, packed with raspberry aromas and flavors wrapped in tannins, but the sweetness mitigates the tannins enough to make it drinkable. Try on a cool evening with a wedge of tasty cheese." (11/1989)

Joseph Phelps "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
1984 Joseph Phelps "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Bid on this bottle of 1984 Joseph Phelps "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93JG, 91RP). John Gilman: "It had been a bit over two years since I last drank a bottle of the beautiful Joseph Phelps 1984 Eisele Vineyard cabernet sauvignon and the wine has only continued to improve since that time... The wine delivers a refined aromatic constellation of sweet dark berries, cassis, a lovely touch of mintiness, a complex base of dark soil tones, a deft framing of new oak and a bit of petroleum jelly in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and shows off superb depth at the core, with fine soil signature and grip, ripe, well-integrated tannins and lovely length on the impeccably balanced and very classy finish... It is not a crime to drink it now, but it is still getting better, so I would try to hold off for at least a few more years and let the tannins soften up a touch more and the wine to further broaden as it blossoms... 1984 Caol Ila 40 Year Old "Artist #15 - Something In The Water" La Maison Du Whisky Hand Selected Single Refill Hogshead Cask Strenght Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

******SPECIAL ORDER SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY - NEW YORK ARRIVAL IN 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS. NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS******* Just 99 bottles were drawn from this extraordinary 1984 Caol Ila, matured for 40 years in refill hogshead #8484006286 and bottled in 2025 at a natural cask strength of 51.3% ABV. Situated near Port Askaig, the distillery takes its name from the Sound of Islay and underwent a comprehensive rebuilding between 1972 and 1974. Its imposing stillhouse houses three 20,000-liter wash stills and three 14,000-liter spirit stills, placing this vintage roughly a decade after the rebuilt distillery reopened. Selected for La Maison du Whisky's Artist #15 Something in the Water collection in collaboration with Elixir Distillers, this single cask represents the oldest whisky in that six-release exploration of Islay. The Artist series, established in 2011, pairs whiskies bottled at natural cask strength with the work of contemporary artists. North Indian artist Radhika Surana illustrates this edition through indigo-dyed textiles and meticulous embroidery inspired by imagined journeys across Islay's rugged terrain. Her work Meandering through relationships I accompanies a remarkably small surviving parcel of Caol Ila from the mid-1980s.
