Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
1973 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Bid on this bottle of 1973 Robert Mondavi “Reserve” Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96DC), a legendary vintage that stood out at the winery’s 50th-anniversary vertical as perhaps the greatest Mondavi Reserve ever made. It’s a blend with 12% Cabernet Franc, picked at 23 Brix. Decanter writes: “At the time, the Mondavi team believed this vintage to be the best of the previous fifteen years; little did they know it might turn out to be the best Reserve ever made. A stunning bouquet of rose petal, fragrant red-black fruit, rich soil and licorice prefaces a very youthful, vibrant wine with compelling density, freshness and purity. This is just cruising along in the cellar. (WK)” (03/2017)

Carsebridge 42 Year Old "Sovereign" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Grain Whiskey
1973 Carsebridge 42 Year Old "Sovereign" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Grain Whiskey

Bid on this bottle of 1973 Carsebridge 42 Year Old "Sovereign" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Grain Whiskey. Much like our other 42 year grain whisky cask from Garnheath distillery, this 42 year old grain also comes from a long lost producer. Carsebridge was one of the many industry casualties of 1983 and was permanently closed after the whisky business suffered serious economic setbacks. This 1973 single cask of Carsebridge, bottled for us by Sovereign, is another rich and full-bodied whisky that brings serious bang for the buck. Candied citrus, toasted oak, sweet vanilla, and a richness that can only come from over forty years in wood dance over the palate in waves of Scotch whisky deliciousness. Due to the ancient age, however, this barrel evaporated down quite heavily. Less than 80 total bottles were retrieved and sent to over to us, making this selection a true rarity. Bottled at 53.3%

Sebastiani "Proprietor's Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon
1973 Sebastiani "Proprietor's Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon

Bid on this bottle of 1973 Sebastiani "Proprietor's Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon . This Cabernet was vinted while August Sebastiani was still at the head of this venerable Sonoma institution. With over a century of wine- making experience in Sonoma, Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery focuses on crafting small lots of super-premium wines from Sonoma County. Cobblestones were the source of the immigrant Samuele Sebastiani's wealth and he made a small fortune paving the streets of San Francisco. Like some other Italian immigrants, he invested his money in a winery and relied on the next generation to build on the foundation he had laid. His son, August Sebastiani did not disappoint, building the wineries reputation for sound wines to the point where over 25, 000 cases per year were being produced in the 1960s and 1970s, a respectable production for any winery back then. Their wines remain beacons of Classic California terroir.

****All orders are subject to availability - please allow 7 business days for order to process - in store or hand delivery only - NO returns or Refunds after product arrival******* When the old distillery in Cork closed to set the stage for a new era of Irish Whiskey, the plant which had famously created some of the world's most prized whiskies since 1825 was closed, but not dismantled. In some quiet corner somewhere a few choice casks lay. Distilled by the forefather of modern Irish Whiskey, Max Crockett, and cared for by his son, Max and subsequent masters, these casks were lost to time, but not forgotten. Now nearly 200 years after the founding of this incredible dynasty, the final casks from the old distillery are released in a series of 6 releases leading up to the bicentennial of the of the founding of the Old Midleton Distillery in cork. This, the penultimate release, before the anniversary, is one of the most prized Irish bottles ever produced.
