Reviewed June 2008The 2005 Chianti Classico Riserva Croce reveals pretty, perfumed aromatics and a core of dark red fruit intermingled with toasted oak. This is an especially linear wine in this vintage. Although the tannins are well-integrated at the outset, the wine lacks the plumpness to provide adequate balance. (AG)
Notes
Terrabianca's Croce is a Chianti Classico Riserva from the estate at San Fedele a Paterno in Radda. The property's modern history began when the Guldener family purchased it in 1988. Vinous's June 2008 assessment described fragrant dark red fruit and toasted oak, with a slender, linear shape. The tannins were initially integrated, but the review also noted that the fruit lacked the fullness needed to balance the wine's structure.
