Reviewed November 2025A blend of vineyards and grapes – 70% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 10% Syrah – the 2023 Vespres Negre is fermented and aged half in concrete and half in Austrian oak ovals for an expansive mouthfeel. Red fruit is accented in licorice and a light spiciness of pepper, garrigue, and dried herb, with tension and verve from the acidity. It opens nicely in the glass and should continue to evolve in bottle, with an ideal drinking window of 2030-2035.

The 2023 Vespres from Montsant is a blend of 80% Garnatxa Tinta, 10% Cariñena and 10% Syrah. It delivers herbal and black fruit notes with a balsamic touch. The palate offers volume, grip and defined flavor. Juicy and firm. (JH)
