On the full-bodied, accessible palate, licorice and ground clove accent a red cherry core before a note of bitter orange jumps in at the end. Aldo Conterno's Bussia Barolo is made from Nebbiolo grown in several vineyards within Bussia, in Monforte d'Alba. The estate vinifies its own fruit, with fermentation in stainless steel and maturation in oak casks. Kerin O'Keefe's June 2026 assessment of the 2022 describes red cherry and wild-strawberry fruit, with violet, clove, licorice and bitter-orange accents. The full-bodied palate is supported by taut, chalky tannins and fresh, tangy acidity.
