Reviewed July 2026The 2023 Chiesamonti is terrific. It offers a bit more depth, energy and structure than Le Trame in this vintage. Crushed rocks, slate, mint, blood orange and white pepper convey notable tension and energy. Grippy yet well-integrated tannins shape the long, vibrant finish. (AG)

Chiesamonti comes from a 1.3-hectare parcel beside San Felice, in Castelnuovo Berardenga. Giovanna Morganti has bottled it separately since 2018; its fruit previously went into Cinque. The importer describes a Sangiovese base with a little Canaiolo, from soil with more stone and less clay than Le Trame's vineyard. In its 2023 review, Vinous finds more depth and structure than in Le Trame of the same year. Blood orange, mint and white pepper accompany firm, well-integrated tannins and a vibrant, long finish.
