The final composition is 65% rye-recipe bourbon and 35% wheated bourbon, marrying the structure and spice of the former with the softer, rounder character of the latter. More importantly, Heaven Hill has assembled the whiskey while still meeting the unusually strict requirements of Bottled-in-Bond: everything comes from the same distillery, was distilled during a single distillation season, matured for well beyond the required four years, and is bottled at exactly 100 proof.
