A seductive, minerally, textural and poised Sancerre. On the nose it has notes of spiced apples, dried pears, warm herbs, baking spices and some pebbles. Medium-bodied with bright acidity on the palate. Stony and vertical, yet it has density and a juicy and succulent finish, with a touch of flint on the aftertaste. From organically grown grapes. (KD)

A new blend from Vacheron, the 2022 Les Lieux Dits is a blend of its single vineyards. It is generous and open in style with a succulent texture. It's supple and round, with restrained fruit flavors akin to red apple and some pastry-like lees-derived flavors. The 2022 is a little gentle in terms of acidity. (RG)

Notes

The Vacheron vineyards are all close to the village of Sancerre itself and have been in the family for 9 generations. Today, this domaine is run by two cousins, the Messieurs Vacheron. Both have sons studying viticulture to carry on the family tradition. The vineyards cover 34 hectares with two principal soil types; "silex" and "caillotte" or chalk. Organic viticulture has been a goal of the family for a number of years; as of 2003, the entire estate is certified organic. The following year the winery was converted completely to biodynamic agriculture-to be sure, you won't find more terroir-driven Sancerre anywhere else in the appellation *Biodynamic*
