Reviewed November 2024The NV Franciacorta Alma Grande Cuvée Non Dosato is remarkably fresh. A whiff of white smoke gives way to hints of dried flowers, crusty brioche and ginger-spiked apples. This opens with a pretty inner sweetness offset by saline mineral tones and tart orchard fruits. It finishes long and full of tension, leaving a salty flourish savory spice nuances. (EG)

An intense and fragrant wine with aromas of bread crust, strawberries, quince, lemon curd, stone fruit and toast. Light- to medium-bodied and honeyed on the palate. It’s zesty and toasty with fine to medium bubbles and a very long, silky, tingling finish. Drink now. (AF)
Notes
Bellavista’s Alma Non Dosato combines Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with reserve wines from earlier harvests. The Erbusco estate assembles the cuvée from separate vineyard selections across Franciacorta. At disgorgement, no sugar is added through dosage. Bellavista describes freshness and length as its aims for the cuvée.
