Lovely aromas of sliced pears and minerals with hints of stones and peaches. Medium- to full-bodied with a creamy texture and attractive tension and mouthfeel. Just a hint of tanginess. Drink now.

The 2022 Alteni di Brassica is a super-elegant, refined wine. This is the first vintage that includes 30% fruit from newly planted vineyards in Alta Langa. Bright and refined, with tons of varietal character, the 2022 is impeccable. Citrus, spice, ginger and light tropical notes linger. This is a fabulous white, especially considering the warm, dry year. (AG)

Notes

Alteni di Brassica is Sauvignon Blanc from Barbaresco, Serralunga and Trezzo Tinella. First produced in 1986, it takes its name from the small stone walls that once enclosed the vineyards and the yellow brassica flowers that appear in spring. The vineyards cover approximately three hectares, principally on calcareous clay soils. The 2022 growing season brought prolonged drought to the Langhe. Gaja’s vintage account describes August rain easing pressure on the vines before the estate began harvesting its white grapes on August 19.
