Decanter
Reviewed March 2023Lively and bright, such intensity of sharp lemon and lime at the beginning, straight but forward and so expressive. Crunchy and crisp, so charming and enjoyable with lift and length and the most lovely saline, mineral aspects towards the finish giving different nuance and complexity. Feels really well made, if only they made more of this. A lovely bitter tang on the finish reminds you it's serious, one of the best whites with such sherbet juiciness, sharp, lively, intense - I love it! Focused and pure. Aged 8 months in oak. Harvest 18 August - 29 August. HVE certified. (GH)

Taut and pure, with fleur de sel and blanched almond notes providing a spine, while lemon peel, yuzu and star fruit flavors course throughout. Focused, with a mouthwatering oyster shell echo hanging on the finish. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2030. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. (JM)

Vinous
The 2022 La Garde Blanc offers kiwi fruit and light gooseberry scents, a touch of nettle in the background. The palate is well-balanced with a grapefruit- and tangerine-tinged opening. There’s a fine bead of acidity here, quite focused with a touch of apricot on the finish. This should drink well for the following decade. (NM)
