Notes
La Fortuna belongs to the Zannoni family, whose history at the Montalcino farm began in 1907. The family purchased the property in 1965, and Gino Zannoni became one of the founding members of the Brunello producers’ consortium two years later. The estate’s first Brunello bottling followed in 1974. The 2019 is made from Sangiovese grown in Montalcino, with the harvest recorded between October 8 and 15. La Fortuna’s technical sheet specifies 40 months in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by six months in bottle before release. That extended maturation in large wood is a concrete part of the wine’s identity, alongside the family’s long connection to Brunello.
