Reviewed November 2022A lighter purple colour. The bouquet is exquisite, classical finesse, very floral Chambolle, though a little tighter on the palate. All in red fruit, good acidity and persistent. A classical fine-boned Chambolle which I shall enjoy very much.

Bright, forward plummy fruit with accents of spice and leather dominate the aromas of this youthful, energetic wine. The texture is lively and fresh, and the accent is firmly on perfume rather than muscle. The light body and crisp acidity belie the subtle persistence on the palate. The wine is a blend of half declassified premier cru grapes from Les Plantes and half from the village-level portion of the Combe d'Orveau that were both picked on 21 September. The fruit is vinified with a very gentle hand, and fans of traditional Chambolle-Musigny should love this bottling. (CC)

The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny villages is really lovely from the domaine this year. It offers up a beautiful, red fruity bouquet of cherries, strawberries, gamebird, a lovely base of chalky soil tones, a touch of mustard seed, vanillin oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is full, pure and very soil-driven in personality, with a lovely core of fruit, beautiful balance and grip, suave tannins, good acids and a long, elegant and complex finish.

Elegant and wonderfully pure aromas include those of various red berries, spice and a pretty floral top note. The precise and gorgeously textured middleweight flavors possess a beguiling underlying tension and ample minerality that adds a sense of lift to the cool, restrained and understated finale. This is a lovely Chambolle villages and worth your interest.
