Born from the union of two families—one rooted in U.S. spirits expertise, the other in generations of Cognac craftsmanship—Deux Familles represents a return to honest, small-batch tradition. Their XO is a testament to that ethos: a 10-cask batch blend of Ugni Blanc eaux-de-vie from Petite Champagne and Fins Bois, two regions prized for expressive aromas. Distilled in traditional Charentais pot stills, the Cognac matures first in red French oak before a final 15-month rest in larger barrels from the family’s paradise cellar. Bottled at 43.6% ABV, it opens with a warm bouquet of sultana, candied pear, and spice cake, deepening into toasted bread, vanilla, and cigar box. The palate delivers old port richness, candied citrus, and oak, finishing with hints of leather and dried fruit. A refined, story-driven Cognac—that tastes as good as it sounds.
