The 2023 Riesling Klostersatz is Pichler’s only Riesling that is not on a slope. The poor Danubain gravels are too poor to support Grüner Veltliner. The juiciest mandarin shimmers with pear and stone fruit and a lovely tropical overtone, incredibly animating with the first sniff. The palate presents the full hit of juiciness promised on the nose with verve, ease and joyfulness. This just flows with freshness and fruit. The finish is all zestiness. (Bone-dry)(AK)
