From the rugged, terraced vineyards in the Carema DOC, at the foothills of the Italian Alps, comes this stunning Carema Classico produced by the historic Produttori di Carema cooperative. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, the same noble grape used for Barolo and Barbaresco, Carema offers a unique expression of Nebbiolo that is more delicate, mineral-driven, and perfumed due to the region’s high-altitude vineyards and cool climate. On the nose, the Carema Classico opens with elegant aromas of wild red berries, rose petals, and a hint of anise, followed by subtle earthy notes of leather, forest floor, and a touch of dried herbs. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins and lively acidity, offering flavors of cherry, cranberry, and a whisper of spice. The wine’s alpine freshness is underscored by a distinctive mineral backbone and a long, refined finish with a touch of dried flowers and tobacco.
