2020 Domaine Beau Mistral "Bastide St-Martin" Rasteau

Very much about the plum and damson fruit, this is concentrated, with a dab of fruit sweetness at its heart. Really quite extracted, the tannins are bold but not coarse, and it finishes on fresh, blackberry-like acidity. A powerful, robust and traditional style of Rasteau that will please traditionalists no end. Grown on clay limestone slopes, all destemmed, the Syrah is matured in barrel, the Grenache in tank. (MW)
