The 2021 Riesling Wiley Vineyard is fresh and beautifully lifted in the glass. Green pear, lime and mint confer freshness throughout. A hint of residual sugar works quite well in giving this sensual Riesling lovely complexity and character. (AG)
Notes
From a block of vines planted in 1976. This historic vineyard is in the hills at the deep end of Anderson Valley where diurnal temperature shifts are often 40-50F. The fruit is whole-cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel. The wine then rested on its lees in 320L neutral oak for 10 months. The finished wine has a small dash of residual sugar (8gL) and a TA of 8.0 and a fresh 3.02pH. In others words, the perfect balance of juicy, exotic, ripe fruit, plus searing acidity to clense the palate.
