I just love a nice Pommard or Volnay. This bottling fits the latter craving. At a good price, too! This mouthfilling release has generously rich dark red fruits, highlighted by black cherries and boysenberry. Add some light earth and cocoa powder into the mix finished off with clean and pure oak. It satisfies. It lingers. It's oh so memorable. I hope that Alex bought a pallet of this!

Elegant Burgundy with silky texture and supple fruit. Very approachable style with beautiful aromas and flavors of raspberry and black cherry framed by lovely mineral note. It's a great buy! Drink now and put aside for a few years.

This has been one of our best high-upside finds in Burgundy in the past few years, and the 2022 is another winner. The elegance and focus is astounding, with a terrific texture and seamless tannins that make it accessible and complex, even at this early stage. Deep red fruits line the palate, with beautiful floral notes and a hint of earthiness. This is a legit 1er Cru red from a great vintage that will be nearly impossible to beat for the price.
Notes
This small estate is located in the heart of the Hautes Cotes de Beaune in the village of Nantoux and is comprised of 4 hectares in Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Beaune. The family started to produce its own wines in 1960 and the estate is currently managed by three generations of the Charles family.
