Based on 30% each Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Clairette with 10% Rolle that saw an extended cold soak after pressing, the 2022 Ventoux Domaine is incredibly aromatic with its exotic citrus, pink grapefruit, white flowers, and chalky mineral-driven nuances. These all carry to a very fresh, medium-bodied, focused, undeniably delicious white that has good acidity, plenty of richness, and a great finish. It's a singular, exotic, incredibly perfumed white.

This luscious white Rhone was sourced from parcels planted in lighter, sandier soils and vinified entirely without sulfites. Pleasantly balanced in its aromatic yellow pear, apricot, and melon flavors with a touch of salinity that gives the wine a vibrant freshness. A blend of one-third each Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Roussanne, with 10% Rolle (Vermentino) to enhance the acidity.

Notes

Located in the foothills of Mont Ventoux lies one of the top producers in the Ventoux region of the Rhone - Domaine de Fondreche. Vigneron Sebastien Vincenti took over the winemaking from his mother in 2005. With an eye toward biodiversity and using organic and biodynamic practices for many years, Fondreche was recently certified organic in 2022. The winery sits on a plateau comprised of alluvial soils of clay and gravel with a mix of silex (flint) thrown in for good measure. The Blanc comes from the sandier soils on the property. That cooling soil helps preserve the freshness in the wine. Fermentation is done in stainless steel tank with no malolactic. It is aged in concrete tanks for six months before bottling. It is a blend of 30% Grenache Blanc, 30% Roussanne, 30% Clairette, and 10% Rolle.
