From Strass, not from Kammern, comes Allram's 2021 Ried Gaisberg 1ÖTW Grüner Veltliner. The site reaches up to 330 meters above sea level, with a steep slope on paragneiss, mica schist and amphibolite to the east and a flatter main orientation toward the south on deep, humus-rich soils. The 2021 has a very clear, clean and aromatic bouquet with notes of ripe and cooked stone fruit, behind which is a fine spiciness. Juicy, elegant and very fruity in the mouth, this is a mouthfilling and intense, well-structured and persistent, powerful and age-worthy Veltliner with a mouthful of fruit. (SR)

Tons of tobacco leaf on the nose and the full-bodied and rich palate, making a bold statement. This has been very well made, and I love the texture on the opulent mid-palate, but you still feel the 14% alcohol slightly at the full, supple finish.

This single vineyard expression of Gruner Veltliner is a powerful and textural wine with rich bold flavor of Mirabelle plum and tangerine with spicy aromas reminiscent of white pepper. Impressive wine with lots to offer and can match heavier dishes with cream sauces (seafood pasta) or lobster with butter dip.
