The Whisky Archives independent bottler grew out of one of the internet age's most unique phenomena. In 2007 Menno Bijmolt created an online database to catalog and document his collection. Apparently, the rest of the Scotch-drinking world liked the idea and today Whiskybase.com boasts more than 120,000 unique whiskies in its database. The team opened their Whisky Shop and Independent bottling line in 2011 and have bottled over 120 casks since then. Only the best casks and barrels can carry the Archives label. Single cask whiskies, bottled at cask strength without any chill filtration or addition of any kind. The team at Whiskybase personally selects only exceptionally high-quality whisky for the Archives series. For the US, they've chosen a selection of whiskies reflecting a broad range of tastes, age and price. Every bottle of Archives is individually numbered and presented with a unique label. From start to finish it is a handmade product.
