Vinous

Reviewed January 2021
The 2019 Trousseau is very pretty, showing sweet dried cherry, orange peel, spice, cedar and rose petal. Exotic and beguiling, with striking aromatics and tons of lift, the Trousseau is just exquisite right out of the glass. Don’t be fooled by the pale color and somewhat fleeting feel; the 2019 has enough depth to drink well for a number of years. The 2019 is mostly a blend from Luchsinger, with two barrels from Bartolomei, done with 100% whole clusters and aged in neutral oak. (AG)

Notes

Arnot-Roberts was founded in Healdsburg in 2001 by childhood friends Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts. According to the winery, the focus of Arnot-Roberts is to produce distinctive, site-driven wines that highlight the nature of the unique terroirs in which the grapes are grown. Winery Notes: "Our North Coast Appellation Trousseau is sourced from the two distinct vineyards; Luchsinger and Bartolomei. The soil and weather in these sites are distinct from each other and as a result yield fruit with singular personalities. We harvest and ferment the sites on their own, without destemming and the resulting wines are aged separately in a mix of neutral French oak barrels and stainless steel."
