2019 I. Brand & Family "Eden Rift Vineyard" Cienaga Valley Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris sourced from the beautiful Eden Rift vineyard in Cienega Valley. Grown in a mix of decomposed granite and limestone soil, this aromatic variety excels here. Winemaker Ian Brand destems the fruit and then gives it a five day soak on the skins, gently stirring the fermenter once per day. Just as the fermentation kicks off the juice is pressed off the skins and fermented in neutral oak. It's a wonderful, fresh, fragrant wine and the time on skins gives lots of texture and intrigue without being "funky" like many skin fermented whites.
