Reviewed April 2022Jeremy Chasseuil continues to make a brilliant, ripe, incredibly sexy Pomerol that always seems to put a smile on my face. His 2019 Château Feytit-Clinet is inky-hued and has a blockbuster nose of ripe black fruits, damp earth, chocolate, and tobacco. This all carries to a full-bodied Pomerol with background oak, ripe, velvety tannins, a great mid-palate, and one heck of a finish. I wish there were more wines like this in the vintage. It offers pleasure today yet will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and cruise for over two decades. Bravo!

Rich and layered red with black olive and walnut on the nose, as well as blackberry. Full-bodied and powerful with superb depth and richness. Walnut and chocolate, too. Opulent, yet fresh. Try after 2026.

Seductive and appealing blend of rich coffee and chocolate alongside pulsing cassis and bilberry fruits. Great quality Clinet, extremely well expressed with controlled ripe fruits and firm tannins that provide a pretty strict frame at this point. This is a high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon for a Pomerol wine, and it gives characteristic poise and balance. (JA)

Always a well-judged and balanced Pomerol from owner Jeremy Chasseuil. As it unrolls, it majors on poised but punchy loganberry and blackberry fruit, with slices of fennel, black pepper and cinnamon spice. Well judged but still present oak notes. 70% new oak. A yield of 42 hl/ha.
Notes
Since resuming direct management of the family estate in 2000, Jérémy Chasseuil has guided Feytit-Clinet's modern revival. Merlot leads the blend, with Cabernet Franc supporting it, from vineyards on Pomerol's gravel and clay soils.
