This pale salmon-pink Rosé is lightly fruity and on the delicate side in the nose yet hints at a bit of complexity, and it follows with well-sustained, slightly more substantial flavors than expected that evoke plums and a wee touch of grapefruit. It steers clear of confection and exhibits fine, fairly firm, food-worthy balance with a slight, palate-refreshing cranberry-like tang and will pair nicely with simple salmon recipes, both hot and cold, or a good, hand-cut turkey sandwich.

Notes

Whole-cluster pressed into neutral French oak barrels, here is a rosé of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan—wait, also with a smidge of Riesling? Bring it!—that is more than suitable for summer sipping. The winery's vintage note: "Those who might still remember our ’17 and ’18 bottlings can expect a fusion of the best qualities of those two distinctly different Rosés. This vintage was much more like 2018, and it does show that citrusy thrust and terrific fragrance. Yet this 2019 weds that feeling with some of the textural roundedness and pink guava flavors of the 2017. Expect a punchy display of white cherry, tangerine and flowers, with subtle leesiness and tropicality. Just delicious!"
