Reviewed October 2017Pungent Sauvignon characters evident on the nose with notes of white flowers and nettles, interspersed with burly hints of grapefruit, lanolin and oil. Brisk acidity on the palate, fresh with good purity, but lacking a little harmony at the moment. Will improve. (OC, CG, AH; panel tasting)

Lovely yellow apple, mirabelle plum and apricot notes burst forth, quickly harnessed by acacia and verbena threads, which provide focus and cut through the flattering finish. (JM)

The Guiraud "G" is a wine for a few more years in the cellars. It has a seriousness about it that goes beyond the delicious citrusy and peaches notes. Perhaps it is due to the lees stirring and barrel aging. It has the richness of a wine made with very ripe grapes, but is it never heavy, and it's completely dry.

Indicative blend: 70% Sauvignon, 30% Semillon.
