2016 Dunham Cellars/MacLachlan "Pursued by Bear" Blushing Bear Columbia Valley Rosé

Pursued by Bear is actor Kyle MacLachlan's wine label out of Washington's Columbia Valley, made in conjunction with Dunham Cellars. Far from a vanity project, MacLachlan has long been in charge of sourcing and selecting the fruit and handling all the blending trials. consulting with winemaker Dan Wampfler who works nearby at Abeja. The wines are classic in style and consistently well-made from vintage to vintage, showcasing the best that Washington State vineyards have to offer. The Blushing Bear rose is a Bandol-style blend in the vein of Tempier with clean acidity and delicate fruit flavors from the Cinsault and Mourvedre-based cepage. It's one of the most elegant roses we've tasted this year, which is why we went out on a limb to track it down for K&L. This rosé is a blend of 67% Grenache, 22% Cinsault and 11% Mourvédre.
