The 2016 Dry Gewurztraminer from Claiborne & Churchill once again captures the aromas of fresh lychee and resin, backed by hints of citrus to create sesty and spicy flavors. Made with grapes sourced from Viento Vineyard up in Monterey County, the Gewurztraminer thrives in the cool climate, coastal fog, and afternoon winds. On the palate it shows juicy pear, stone fruit and citrus peel that play off one another. Since the grapes had a longer hang time and were picked slighly less ripe compared to previous vintages, this wine boasts a refreshing acidity, followed up with its famously dry finish.
