Reviewed March 2013This has a large core of dark currant, plum and fig fruit rolled together and inlaid with baker's chocolate, dark tobacco and loam notes. The long, solid, muscular finish lets the fruit and loam play out nicely. Best from 2014 through 2020. 2,500 cases made. (JM)

That was a very nice surprise in our tasting, as I have never tasted this wine before and didn't know what to expect. It is located just north on St-Estephe, on a terroir that favors Merlot, of which it contains 70% in its vineyards. It has very enticing aromatics of exotic incenses and chocolate, and a delicious impression of sweetness on the palate, along with a note of earthiness. It delivers the quality and approachability.
